HOTELS China Magazine Names The Regent Beijing in the Country’s Top 10
The Regent Beijing has been named one of the country’s top 10 business hotels by the 2008 HOTELS China Awards. The 500-room property is the Chinese flagship of international luxury leader Regent Hotels & Resorts (www.regenthotels.com).
The Regent Beijing was selected for its excellent service, professional staff, strong guest return ratio, central location and striking interior design by a team of hospitality industry experts invited by HOTELS China, a leading hotel industry magazine.
The award-winning hotel—most recently honored alongside its Serenity Spa on Conde Nast Traveler’s 2008 Hotel and Spa Hot Lists—offers expansive meeting and event space. Amenities include an elegant ballroom and over 11,000 square feet of flexible function space. The hotel’s ballroom can accommodate up to 800 guests, and features a balcony-style pre-function area overlooking a courtyard garden. It can also be customized to suit smaller groups by dividing it into three smaller spaces, each with a capacity of up to 250 guests.
The hotel also offers a dedicated Meetings & Events specialist to help guests with the planning and execution of every event, regardless of size or scope.
In addition, guestrooms at The Regent Beijing include technological equipment ideal for business travelers, such as the ability to link personal laptops to their in-room plasma televisions and connections from personal Ipods to the in-room stereo system.
Located on Beijing’s “Rodeo Drive” and minutes from historic sites like the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, The Regent Beijing offers a unique connection to Chinese art and culture. Hotel owner Madam Chan Lai Wa founded China’s first private museum to celebrate the red sandalwood artisans central to Imperial Chinese culture. The hotel is filled with China’s legendary polished red sandalwood and carefully-selected Chinese art.
The hotel also offers five dining and lounge facilities with Chinese, Italian and Western cuisines, as well as the Serenity Spa, which features international and traditional Chinese treatments and therapies.
An iconic luxury brand with a strong history in Asia, Regent Hotels & Resorts plans to open six properties in the region in the coming years. Future Asian properties include The Regent Maldives (1Q 2009); The Regent Phuket Cape Panwa, Thailand (2009); The Regent Manila Bay, the Philippines (2010); The Regent Bangkok, Thailand (2010); and The Regent Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (2011).
