Anantara will open a luxury Spa in October on the mystical shores of the Dead Sea that will be the largest and most advanced in the whole of the Middle East.

Set over more than 10,000 sqm, Anantara Spa at Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea in Jordan will offer guests an exquisite sense of space and serenity as well a range of customised treatments that pay homage to the wisdom of the cosmos.

With 20 treatment rooms, 28 Spa Suites plus outdoor therapy lounges with views of the Dead Sea, the Spa has been designed in contemporary style with local touches to create a realm of rejuvenation, tranquillity and calm.

Inspired by a mix of exotic Middle Eastern and Asian health and beauty practices, the spa's extensive wet facilities include a traditional Moroccan Hammam, ice cave, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzi, natural Dead Sea mineral pools, hydro bubble pool, steam rooms and a Watsu pool, which combines Shiatsu massage techniques with the gentle motion of water. In addition, the ‘garden of the senses’ overlooking the Dead Sea ensures the ideal setting to relax after a spa experience.

Highly trained local therapists and staff from Thailand will deliver century-old Thai and Ayurvedic therapies as well as innovative new signature treatments based on the astronomical cycles of the Sun and the Moon. The extensive spa menu also has a range of pampering delights inspired by the planets Venus, Jupiter and Saturn. For men, there are therapies based, naturally, on the power of Mars!

The Dead Sea provides an abundance of natural ingredients providing oxygen-rich air, mineral-loaded seawater and healing mud that are used in many of the quintessentially luxurious treatments. The Anantara Signature Magical Suspense package, for example, utilises the legendary therapeutic properties of the Dead Sea with a purifying and aromatic journey that includes Dead Sea Float, Mud Wrap and Anantara detoxifying massage.

For those wishing to live the full wellness experience, there are tailor-made two, three and five-day spa journeys with a choice of 28 single and two-storey Spa Suites with terraces providing splendid views onto the Dead Sea. In the spa studio, guests will be able to learn and practice the art of yoga, tai chi, meditation and Pilates.
