A 3rd generation hotelier, Damon Page has harboured a passion for the hotel industry that has resulted in an impressive career spanning twenty-five years, in exotic destinations around the world.

Damon has been with Starwood Hotels and Resorts for 15 years and with the W brand since May 2005 when he was responsible for launching W’s first Retreat & Spa: the award-winning W Maldives. He brings his knowledge and expertise of the brand’s unique service philosophy and creative culture to the city of Hong Kong, where the most hotly anticipated hotel opening in years – W Hong Kong – is set to introduce the concept of non-traditional luxury that originated in New York, has spread across North America and is now firmly planted around the globe.

Previous to his work with W Hotels, Damon spent nearly ten years with the Sheraton Brand in destinations ranging from Poland to China. Damon’s role as General Manager of the Sheraton Perdana Resort, Langkawi, from 2002 to 2005, saw him effectively turn around the hotel’s overall performance despite being confronted with serious challenges to the industry (SARS, Bird Flu and the December 2004 Tsunami). Damon managed to drive profitability of this hotel and eventually helped guide the sale of and multi-million dollar reinvestment into the property, which led to its re-branding as a Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa.

Damon also has a great deal of experience in directing design. During his time at the Sheraton Warsaw Hotel and Towers in the early part of the decade, he directed the refurbishment – including product design and selection – of the hotel’s Executive Floors and all Banquet rooms.

Damon also has a vision for developing thriving F&B outlets, as seen from his successes in fine dining development in his earlier days in Australia to his contributions to the development of more cutting edge restaurants in Moscow during the late 90s.

Having commenced his hotel career in 1983, Damon thrived in the industry in Australia and New Zealand for 13 years before plying his trade on a global level.

Damon is married and has two daughters. He counts golfing, sailing, cooking, scuba diving and cross-country rides on his Harley Davidson among his many passions. Damon currently resides in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
