3,400 Global Staff on SuccessFactors; Performance and Talent Management Strategy to Support Growth Plans to Double in Size Over Next Four Years

SuccessFactors, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFSF), the global leader in on-demand performance and talent management solutions, today announced that Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, owner and operator of some of the world's most prestigious hotels and resorts, has deployed the SuccessFactors Performance and Talent Management Suite to 400 of its senior managers worldwide, and will be training 3,000 department heads, managers and supervisors in the system over the coming months. The global performance management system has been implemented to support the hotel group's strategy to double in size over the next four years.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is the award-winning owner and operator of some of the world's most prestigious hotels and resorts. It currently now operates, or has under development, over 10,000 rooms in 23 countries with 16 hotels in Asia, 14 in The Americas and nine in Europe and North Africa. The portfolio includes its original flagship properties, the acclaimed Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong and The Oriental, Bangkok. Other deluxe hotels are located in prime destinations worldwide, from London and New York, to San Francisco and Singapore.

"We knew that in order to achieve our key objectives around growth and standards of luxury service, we would need to have the right people in the right jobs at the right time," said Jacqueline Moyse, head of organizational development for Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. "SuccessFactors provides us with the breadth of support we need to implement a consistent and user-friendly performance management system across all of our global properties."

The SuccessFactors Performance and Talent Management Suite enables Mandarin Oriental to have consistency across multiple HR systems in its different hotels around the world. The company has already deployed SuccessFactors Performance Management module, and is currently configuring the Succession Management module, as well as developing competency sets internally with key management. The company plans to deploy SuccessFactors 360-Degree Review module over the next year.

"We asked each manager to rank the competencies so that we could identify which are important to our organization, and which are critical to specific roles," added Moyse. "These competencies include customer focus, managing vision and purpose, integrity, and of course, humility, which is an important part of our cultural heritage as an organization. The SuccessFactors system provides us with a means of ensuring global alignment with our organizational goals, while still retaining the individuality of our hotels."

Lars Dalgaard, CEO of SuccessFactors, commented, "Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is a great example of an organization that understands both the challenges and the rewards of ensuring a consistent customer experience and strategic goal alignment at a global level. We are extremely pleased to be helping the group to achieve its objectives around growth and vision, especially as they expand throughout Europe and the USA, by empowering the strategic direction, support and feedback through our performance management processes."

"SuccessFactors has allowed us to go beyond just an online system, and enabled us to implement a company-wide performance management and talent management process," added Moyse. "The creation of globally consistent leadership competency sets and the ability to define a performance management process meant adoption of the system quickly approached 100 percent. As a management team, we saw in-depth reviews of performance against competencies and meaningful performance discussions."

As a result of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group's holistic approach to the change management process around talent management, the company was recently awarded a SuccessAdoption Award at the SuccessConnect Global User Conference. The award recognizes a company's effort to globalize consistent performance management processes, while developing the skills of its leaders.

The SuccessFactors Performance and Talent Management Suite, which includes Performance Management, Goal Management, 360 Degree Reviews, Succession Management, Compensation Management, Learning and Development, Recruiting Management, Employee Profile, and Analytics and Reporting applications, creates a company-wide network of information related to employee performance, including skill-sets, interests, career aspirations, ability to relocate, experience, languages spoken and more. By providing deep, real-time, company-wide visibility into such critical performance data, companies are able to make better, more informed decisions about how to promote, recruit, compensate, reward and manage their entire employee base.
