The Rezidor Hotel Group announces the Radisson Yas Island Abu Dhabi – the luxury hotel with 370 rooms will open its doors in Q4 2009. It is Rezidor’s second property in the emirate; the company is already developing The Regent Emirates Pearl which will welcome the first guests in 2010.
Abu Dhabi is the largest of the seven emirates and known for its cultural attractions, beaches, shopping facilities and world-class resorts. Yas Island belongs to its most beautiful natural islands and will feature highlights such as a high-end motor sports racetrack, a Ferrari theme park, signature hotels, a water park and the Abu Dhabi destination retail development on 300,000 square meters. Links and parkland golf courses, lagoon hotels, marinas, polo clubs, apartments, villas and numerous food & beverage outlets will be added to create a unique international tourist destination.
The Radisson Yas Island Abu Dhabi will be included in the first phase of development and will be located adjacent to one of the planned golf courses and the F1 race track. The site is 5 kilometers from the airport and 20 minutes to the Abu Dhabi Central Business District via a new highway. Besides 370 rooms the first class hotel will comprise a lobby lounge, an outdoor/pool bar, 3 restaurants, meeting rooms, a ballroom, an executive lounge, a business centre, a barber & beauty shop, a health club, outdoor pools, a pool terrace and 500 parking spaces.
