In the months of May and June, Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts added new international awards and accolades at both group and property levels. The Group now counts over 386 awards and accolades since it was established 14 years ago. The awards are testimony to Banyan Tree’s strong global branding and continued diligence in corporate social responsibility and service standards as the Group spreads its wings globally.

The Group’s most-lauded property in China, Banyan Tree Lijiang was voted among China’s Ten Most Favoured Resorts in 21st Century Business Herald’s Golden Pillow survey for the second time running. This is one of China’s most influential hotel award lists and voting was done by an independent panel of judges. The hotel Group also picked up the coveted accolade of Most Favoured Luxury Brand Hotel in China in the same poll. This double recognition is a healthy indication of the local market’s confidence in the Group’s overall service standards and delivery of a much sought-after experience, supporting Banyan Tree’s strategy of rapid growth in China over the next few years.

Banyan Tree’s flagship resort, Banyan Tree Phuket affirms its position as one of Asia’s leading resorts after being voted one of the Top Ten International Spas in Celebrated Living Magazine Platinum List. Celebrated Living is published quarterly exclusively for American Airlines Premium Class. This follows from Banyan Tree Spa Phuket coming in at runner-up position of Best Worldwide Spas at the Daily Telegraph’s prestigious Ultra Awards 2008.

Banyan Tree Madivaru was singled out by Travel + Leisure USA for its highly rated IT List Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The IT List features 30 of the Best New Hotels revealed in the June edition of the publication. A first in the Maldives, Banyan Tree Madivaru consists of a private cluster of six exquisite Tented Pool Villas set in the North Ari Atoll.

Located in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Banyan Tree Al Areen triumphed at the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Travel Awards 2008, accepting the Gold Award for Best New Hotel 2007. This event has been formed to annually celebrate the skills, professionalism and creativity of the Middle East and North Africa's growing travel industry, while honoring the successful entrants in each of the industry categories; and those who are considered to be the best in their specific sector.
