The new 560-room luxury InterContinental Chicago O’Hare was the only choice for meeting planning executive Rose Martin and her fiancé, Alan Placek, to hold their September wedding. “We were so excited to see a brand new luxury property being developed in the O’Hare area that embodies contemporary elegance, culture and class,” said Rose Martin, the bride-to-be and managing partner of Premier Group Meetings & Events Corporation, a full-service corporate meetings, incentive travel and special events organization in Chicago. “This was the perfect destination to begin our journey, in what is one of the most important events of our lives. I embraced the hotel’s unique museum look and feel, which is visible by the original artwork displayed throughout, and I truly appreciated the staff’s attention to every detail.”

Managed by Portfolio Hotels & Resorts in Oak Brook, IL, the InterContinental Chicago O’Hare - ‘Where an Authentic Experience is the New Luxury’ - officially opens September 3 with 53,000 square-feet of flexible, and stylish, state-of-the-art meeting and event space. The four distinctive Grand Ballrooms, which can each accommodate up to 1,100 guests for any special occasion, are intertwined with impeccable food and beverage service, and luxuriously appointed guest rooms feature commissioned art from Chicago artists. Guests will experience soothing décor and original artwork, a fully working art gallery, an on-site 250 seat live entertainment venue, and world-class restaurants Osteria di Tramonto, McCormick & Schmick’s, and The Capital Grille.

Banquets at the InterContinental Chicago O’Hare are elegantly presented by white-gloved servers under custom-designed rose chandeliers and superior architectural finishes. Each step of planning an event is handled personally by on-site Social Catering Director Megan Streiff. In fact, the hotel’s professional and courteous staff made planning a wedding reception stress-free, according to Martin. “The service we have received from the staff since our first meeting has been a very pleasant and positive experience. Customer service is very important in our industry, and the staff at the InterContinental has displayed this from the very start.”

Located minutes from the O’Hare International Airport, the hotel is also close to the Allstate Arena, Rosemont Theatre and Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.
