Bruce Wardinski, CEO of Barcelo Crestline Corporation and Playa Hotels & Resorts, S.L. (Playa) today announced the appointment of Roberto Garrido Sanchez as Vice President of Asset Management for Barcelo Crestline Corporation. Barcelo Crestline Corporation asset manages hotels for Playa Hotels & Resorts, a privately held Spanish company focusing on the acquisition and development of all-inclusive beachfront resorts in Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. Barcelo Crestline filled a critical role in setting up Playa and attracting investors, and subsequent to the company's formation, Barcelo Crestline has, in its role as asset manager, overseen a dramatic expansion in the size and branding of the portfolio. Playa now owns 17 resorts in Mexico and the Dominican Republic that are managed by Barcelo Hotels & Resorts or by AMResorts under the Secrets, Dreams and Sunscape brands.
Mr. Garrido joins Barcelo Crestline from Valentin Hotels in Mexico where he was the General Manager for the Valentin Imperial Maya Hotel. Prior to that he was the General Manager for the Hotel Sunscape Puerto Aventuras, Mexico, the Hotel Natura Park Eco-Resort & Spa in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and General Manager for Club Royal Mediterraneo in Mallorca, Spain. In his new position, Mr. Garrido will report to Alex Stadlin, Senior Vice President of Asset Management for Barcelo Crestline Corporation.
"As we expand our holdings and continue major property renovations and improvements throughout our assets in the Dominican Republic, we welcome Roberto's resort management expertise," said Bruce Wardinski. "Roberto will work with the in-house property management teams to help insure successful operations, as well as maximize return on investment for the owners," added Wardinski.
Mr. Garrido holds a B.A. in Tourism from the University of the West of England, as well as a Higher Diploma in Tourism from the University of the Balearic Islands, Spain. He is fluent in Spanish, English, German and Italian.
