With its May 2008 issue, Conde Nast Traveler announces its 12th Annual Hot List of the World's Top New Hotels, Restaurants, Nightclubs and Spas. Among the 20 hotels making the grade in the continental United States is The Duane Street Hotel, operated by Hersha Hospitality Management and owned by Hersha Hospitality Trust (AMEX:HT), which opened in December 2007 in Manhattan's stylish TriBeCa neighborhood.

Described as, "this quietly hip newcomer," the Duane Street Hotel also gets points for valuing "privacy over flash-in-the-pan popularity" -- a characteristic that is in keeping with its mission to offer visitors all the upscale comforts of a metropolitan home.

As stated in the magazine, Conde Nast Traveler scrutinizes the thousands of hotels that opened in the last year, checking in to the most promising -- appraising the location, service, design and value. The resulting list consists of the 136 hotels that won over the prestigious travel magazine's discerning editors.

This honor tops off a list of accolades bestowed by various publications, including The New York Times, New York Magazine, The Boston Globe, Fodor's, The New York Sun and julib.com since the hotel and adjoining 'beca Restaurant opened just four months ago.

With 45 rooms, the six-story hotel evokes the unique style of Manhattan's fashionable loft living, complete with high ceilings, tall windows filling rooms with natural light, hardwood floors and clean modern decor. Designed by noted architectural firm Gene Kaufman Associates and renowned interior designer Paul Vega, the Hersha property integrates the unique character of TriBeCa with the needs of sophisticated travelers.
