The Rezidor Hotel Group reaches a new milestone in Russia & CIS – with the signing of the Park Inn Kazan (174 rooms, opening in Q2 2011) the company’s portfolio of hotels in operation and under development now features 30 properties with almost 8,000 rooms. “We are having the strongest pipeline ever in Russia & CIS, and are reinforcing our position as the market leader in this emerging region”, comments Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor. The new agreement also means a new record for the group’s rapid growth in Eastern Europe – Rezidor operates and develops 60 hotels with more than 14,600 rooms.
Rezidor was pioneering on the Russian hotel market and is the first international hotel company to have a full development, technical, marketing and operations office in the country. The company therefore has immediate resources at hand for owners and developers to manage ongoing business and to support new projects all over the region. In Moscow only Rezidor has three new Radisson hotels under development – further properties will be built in cities such as Tbilisi (Georgia), Medeu-Almaty (Kazakhstan) and Yalta (Ukraine).
Kazan is one of Russia's largest cities. It is the Capital of the Republic of Tatarstan and the administrative, industrial and cultural centre of the area – as well as the largest port on the Volga River. The brand new Park Inn Kazan will be built in the city centre, close to historical attractions and less than 2 km from the famous XVI Century Kremlin. Kazan’s international airport is 23 km away from the property. Besides 174 rooms the hotel will offer a restaurant, a lobby bar & lounge, conference & meeting areas and fitness facilities.
