Strategic Global Expansion in Response To Demand For
Experiential Luxury Travel
With growing worldwide demand for exceptional five-star travel and exclusive experiences, Preferred Hotel Group™ has embraced a selective number of prestigious new members into its Preferred Hotel & Resorts portfolio.
A total of 18 new properties have been accepted into Preferred Hotels & Resorts in the last six months ranging from iconic hotels to incomparable new resorts and destinations. They include Montage Beverly Hills in California, The Opposite House in China, Secrets Maroma Beach in Mexico, and Finca Cortesín in Spain.
“At the luxury level, travel is an essential component to a sophisticated lifestyle. Our guests travel for many reasons – business, vacation, family, events – and they want their experience to be profoundly memorable no matter the purpose of their trip,” said John Ueberroth, Chairman and CEO, Preferred Hotel Group. “In an age where luxury has many definitions, the growth in Preferred Hotels & Resorts allows the collection to evolve as the brand of choice for a special type of traveler.”
A pronounced focus on sales differentiates Preferred Hotels & Resorts from the competition. The esteemed publication Business Travel News just reported that buyers rated Preferred Hotels & Resorts as the best for corporate travel programs in the Deluxe category, leading brands like Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton. It was the only brand dedicated to independent luxury hotels ranked in the survey and is an example of why hotels are choosing Preferred.
“Montage Hotels & Resorts is pleased to work with Preferred Hotels & Resorts, a respected global strategic brand partner. Preferred will compliment our sales and marketing efforts while supporting our global distribution needs for our future property, Montage Beverly Hills,” said Jeff Johnson, Vice President of Marketing for Montage Hotels & Resorts.
The most recent additions to the brand include a stunning new property - Finca Cortesín in Casares, near Sotogrande and Marbella in Spain. Surrounded by 150 hectares of Mediterranean mountains, nestled against the sea, and with the one of the best golf courses on the Costa del Sol, Finca Cortesín - part of the Stein group – is due to open later this autumn and will consist of 67 luxury suites, a variety of fine dining restaurants, and a stunning spa.
In contrast, The Sagamore in New York is a truly historic property. Situated in the unspoiled Adirondack Mountains, The Sagamore, which first opened 125 years ago, is the perfect year-round getaway and offers a combination of elegant hotel accommodations and Lodges, as well as a championship golf course, European-style spa, and a sailing school.
One of the most eagerly awaited new hotel openings of the year is Montage Beverly Hills. Located in the Golden Triangle of Southern California's premier neighbourhood, Montage Beverly Hills will be the new centrepiece of Beverly Hills. The 201 room property, which is due to open in Autumn this year, is within steps of luxury retailers and world-class dining on and around the famous Rodeo Drive and will also offer a luxurious spa, meeting space, street-level retail boutiques, expansive public colonnades, and gardens.
The Blue Golf Resort in Miami, Florida, is the first urban resort developed along the legendary fairways of one of South Florida's premier golf courses. Designed as a series of 15 Grand Old Floridian Style mansions, it encompasses 240 spacious and elegantly furnished suites. It offers its own expansive clubhouse with fully equipped fitness centre, European spa, restaurant, and much more.
The Opposite House is the first Preferred Hotels & Resorts property in China. Developed by Swire Properties, the new, contemporary hotel is due to open this summer as an integral part of The Village at Sanlitun, one of Beijing’s premier open-plan shopping destinations. The hotel’s 99 rooms will include ten spacious suites (amongst the largest in Beijing) and will be strikingly restrained with natural wooden floors and subtle touches of Chinese décor. The bathrooms feature deep oak soaking tubs, invigorating rain showers and under floor heating, and the restaurants and bars are conceived by well-known Shanghai based restaurateur David Laris.
Another stunning property due to open its doors this summer is Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun in Mexico, part of AM Resorts. In an exquisite luxury setting on one of Mexico’s most dazzling beaches, this all-suite resort will offer multiple gourmet restaurants, endless day and evening activities, twelve swimming pools, a shimmering infinity pool, and an amazing spa and spa garden, with outdoor and indoor treatments.
