For the 9th consecutive year the Hospitality Awards, organized by MKG Group, European leader in hospitality and leisure consulting, will enable the worldwide hotel industry to present their best innovations and accomplishments.
Categories were carefully selected by the 2008 Advisory Board, presided by Richard Gomel, President Hospitality of Groupe du Louvre and made of twenty of the most important corporate executives from international hotel groups (1).
This year, the scope of the competition is more international than ever. Thus, the Best communication campaign category targets three different areas:
•
North America
•
Europe, Africa and Middle East
•
Asia-Pacific
As last year, the Awards will highlight the hotel industry innovations in all fields (Lodging, Food & beverage, spa, conferences) distinguishing the accomplishments in three major categories: economy, midscale and upscale hotels.
Furthermore, the Worldwide Hospitality Awards 2008 are truly concerned by keeping up to date, rewarding this year the Best e-commerce strategy as well as the Best initiative in sustainable development.
Aware of the importance of promoting professionals who represent the strength of this profession, the Advisory Board 2008 is committed to follow the hoteliers in each step of their carrier, through the Best initiative in education coming from a hotel school, the Best Professional Career Development Program and the Best General Manager (upscale and luxury hotels) awards.
The winners will be selected by a jury made of 40 personalities coming from various sectors as press, tourism industry and business in general, having a long experience in the different Awards categories: communication, marketing, human resources, architecture, etc. The jury will be co-chaired by Stanislas de Quercize, chairman & CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels and Clara Gaymard, President of General Electric France.
The award ceremony will take place at the Hotel Hilton Arc de Triomphe on the 18th of November, 2008. It will be presided by Arne Sorenson, Executive Vice President of Marriott International, Chief Financial Officer and President Continental Europe. More than 700 people are expected.
