Complete refurbishment of Sugar Beach Resort in 2008 (Ile Maurice)

2008 will see the refurbishment of Sugar Beach Resort in Flic en Flac, Mauritius. Sun Resorts will invest over 20 million euros in the renovation of this 4 star superior resort. The works will last 4 months and the resort will close on the 1st April and will re-open on the 1st August 2008.

In order to enhance the Plantation style of the resort into a modern and contemporary feel, the architects and interior decorators have worked on a design and concept that will clearly position the Sugar Beach Resort as THE 4 star superior resort for families and couples seeking an active beach holidays.

The key features will consist of:

-A complete refurbishment of the 238 Guest Rooms, 92 of which are being remodeled. The resort will re-open with 2 deluxe suites, 92 ground floor superior villa rooms and 144 standard rooms.
-New décor and furniture for the public areas including reception, lobby, main restaurant to which a new bar area is being added. Citronella’s Café will be remodeled and redefined.
-The main pool will be enlarged and a new beach side Restaurant and Bar built.

The resort will also include new facilities:
-A New Spa with special features such as couples treatment rooms, hamam and shiatsu treatment rooms and a hair dressing and beauty parlour.
-A 300 sqm gym will be equipped with state of the art equipments and personal trainers (Multi-media cardio equipment, air controlled strength machines, Vibro Gym and Pilates courses)
-A sports club including a bar and an entertainment area for teenagers
-A new pool in the South wing of the resort.

The existing facilities and services such as Kids club, entertainment and leisure activities, restaurant menus and concepts, will be enhanced to ensure that our younger guests experience a unique island holiday.

Sugar Beach Resort with its 294 sqm and fully equipped conference center and its vast grounds and dedicated groups and incentives team will remain the ideal hotel in Mauritius to host tailor-made groups and incentives.

The hotel will operate normally until its closure on the 1st April 2008.
