In welcoming 7 new members including 3 in India and 1 in Singapore, Relais & Châteaux steps up its development in Asia.
Relais & Châteaux now has 475 members in more than 55 countries thanks to the arrival of the following properties:
In India: Mahua Kothi in Bandhavgarh (12 suites), The Malabar House in Kerala (16 rooms + 1 suite), Le Dupleix in Pondichéry (14 rooms)
In Singapore: Saint Pierre (Restaurant)
The Relais & Châteaux delegation in Asia henceforth boasts 23 member properties.
Three other properties round off this impressive list:
In the United Kingdom; The Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath (31 rooms and 14 suites)
In the United States: Winvian in Morris, Connecticut (19 rooms)
In New Zealand: The Farm at Cape Kidnappers in Havelock North (22 suites + 1 four-room cottage)
For Jaume Tàpies, International President of Relais & Châteaux, “These 7 new properties all completely live up to the Relais & Châteaux promise of offering our guests properties and experiences - all around the world, unique in the world.”
The member properties of Relais & Châteaux are selected by means of a rigorous, demanding procedure involving one or more anonymous inspection visits and one or more interviews with the property owners and general managers who will uphold the spirit and soul of the place. The final admission decision is taken by the Relais & Châteaux Board of Directors that consists of 28 members with 14 different nationalities. Only approximately 25% of candidate properties are accepted every year.
