CostaBaja Resort & Marina had much to celebrate over the Holidays as they launched their exciting Phase II with two new residential neighborhoods. The 550-acre CostaBaja Resort, being developed by Parque Reforma, Mexico's leading construction and development firm, is located on a white-sand beach on the shores of the Sea of Cortez, a ten-minute drive from downtown La Paz, capital of Baja Sur California, Mexico and ninety miles north of Los Cabos.
CostaBaja is already the most impressive resort in La Paz with a 250 slip state-of-the-art marina, the lively marina village, a contemporary Fiesta Inn, and three sold-out residential developments (Villas de Playa, Condos de Playa and the Pueblo Marina condos), many of which are occupied.
The new Phase II residential neighborhoods include VistaMar, bluff-top luxury seaside residences at the edge of the Sea of Cortez. These full ownership homes, designed in a clean contemporary style that features the local Baja influence, have dramatic fan-shaped floor plans that capture the fabulous sea and marina views, along with generous terraces for the gracious outdoor living so much a part of life in La Paz and are priced from the mid $500s to over $1 million.
Also part of Phase II are the Las Colinas hillside homes, adjacent to the golf course and trail system, with great sea views and affordable prices, starting in the mid $300s. Part of a hillside village reminiscent of Tuscany, these one and two-story homes blend naturally into the environment. Warm-colored stone and stucco have been used to create a rustic yet contemporary feeling.
The resort is now going to the next level with extraordinary amenities for owners -- from the magnificent CostaBaja Beach Club, opened last November, the 18-hole Gary Player Design Golf Course with sensational sea views on nearly every hole, breaking ground in 2008, to the luxurious Espiritu Spa, opening in 2009. Great pride is taken in the fact that CostaBaja's master plan was the first in Mexico to voluntarily comply with the federal government's environmental auditing program.
As the gateway to the ecologically rich Sea of Cortez, which Jacques Cousteau called "The Aquarium of the World," La Paz boasts some of the best beaches and adventure-tourism in Baja. In addition to the spectacular sport fishing and scuba diving, there is boating, snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, whale watching and wind surfing. Some of the popular activities in the surrounding desert are hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking and ATV tours.
Listed in Money Magazine as a superb place to retire, La Paz is both an authentic Mexican community with a small town flavor and an active city with five universities, several hospitals, the unique cultural presence of museums and performing arts theaters and one of the highest standards of living in Mexico. An exciting Discovery Package is being offered for couples who want to find out more about CostaBaja and La Paz.
