Espirito Santo Hotels has just closed a contract to launch the new Tivoli São Paulo. The hotel is located in one of the best neighbourhoods of the city – Jardins, on Alameda Santos, next to Trianon Park. The hotel lies between museums, theatres and restaurants and is less that a block away from the famous Avenida Paulista.

The rental agreement signed between Espírito Santo Hotels and the Mofarrej Group is for 20 years. The hotel will be handed over to the Tivoli Group in July 2008 and will then remain closed for six months while remodelling work is carried out. The renovation project is estimated at 16 million Reals and will be the responsibility of the well-known architect Patrícia Anastassiadis, who also took charge the renovation of the Tivoli Praia do Forte EcoResort.

The hotel currently has 230 rooms and suites, 2 restaurants, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, 600m2 of rooms for meetings and events as well as fitness facilities. Remodelling work will be carried out on the meeting rooms, the rooms and public areas, with special emphasis on the lobby, reception, lobby bar and the restaurant on the ground floor. The restaurant on the top floor will also be redecorated and a celebrated chef will be looking after the menus.

In January 2009, the Tivoli São Paulo Jardins will be inaugurated with the aim of differentiating in the luxury five-star hotel segment in São Paulo. With this in mind, included in the project is the creation of a SPA in partnership with Banyan Tree, a SPA specialist which is already operating in other Tivoli properties.

The Tiboli Hotesl chain is part of Espirito Santo Hotels, as is the Praia do Forte Eco Resort in Brazil. The group currently has 12 properties in mainland Portugal and the island of Madeira. There is also a further unit under construction in the Algarve, the Tivoli Victoria. Tivoli Hotels differentiate through their location and quality of products and service. With more than 70 years of history in the hotel business, the Tivoli brand applies that experience to meet current market demands and client requirements.
