The Legian, a luxury resort managed by General Hotel Management (GHM), is pleased to announce the appointment of Executive Chef Dorin Schuster. Chef Schuster brings to the position over 20 years of diverse culinary experience; including Iggy’s at The Regent, Singapore.
Awarded San Pellegrino Chef of the Year in 2007 at the World Gourmet Summit, Chef Schuster was the Executive Chef of Iggy’s. During his tenure at Iggy’s, Chef Schuster led the restaurant to be named 60th best restaurants in the world by Restaurant Magazine in 2007. The restaurant was also been acknowledged ‘New Restaurant of the Year’ in the 2006 at the Awards of Excellence during the World Gourmet Summit. After spending almost 13 years in Germany learning the basics of kitchen operations, Chef Schuster, a certified Master chef, ventured into Asia at the age of 31.
No stranger to The Legian, Chef Schuster was previously Executive Chef with The Legian where he picked up the intricacies of the Asian palette and combined it with his training in European cuisine. Chef Schuster possesses strong leadership skills, industry knowledge, and creative menu ideas.
At The Legian, in his role as Executive Chef, Chef Schuster will oversee all culinary aspects of the property including The Restaurant, The Pool Bar, The Lobby Bar and Room Service Dining, which feature a delectable blend of International and Asian cuisines. Chef Schuster has added new and inventive dishes to the menus including Chilled Gazpacho with watermelon and basil sorbet served at The Restaurant. Please see recipe below.
