Readers of Condé Nast Traveler (US) voted seven Shangri-La luxury hotels to the 2008 “Gold List.” The 14th annual “Gold List” appears in the magazine’s January 2008 issue and features the world’s best hotels, resorts and cruise lines as selected by subscribers.
The Shangri-La hotels listed among the 91 “Gold List” properties located in Asia, Australia & Pacific Nations include:
Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing
Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong
Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong
Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai
Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore
Makati Shangri-La, Manila
Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok
The “Gold List” also includes Reserve properties that are worth highlighting. Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney was named to the Reserve list this year.
Condé Nast Traveler’s “Gold List” results are based upon the 2007 Readers’ Choice Survey, in which the publication asked respondents to rate hotels according to various criteria such as service, rooms, design, dining and location. From the more than 28,000 subscriber responses received, the publication calculated the average score of each category and tabulated the overall satisfaction percentage.
