Stockholm Waterfront has been launched with great expectations – a congress centre with facilities for up to 3,000 people and a four-star hotel with 418 rooms right in the very heart of Stockholm. Located between the World Trade Center and Stockholm’s historic City Hall, right next to the Central station and the airport train Arlanda Express, Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre is already being referred to as one of the world’s leading meeting venues. The landmark Stockholm Waterfront is scheduled to open 2010.

Rezidor has secured the prestigious contract to operate both Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre and the hotel, the Park Inn Stockholm Waterfront. “We are very proud to develop and operate this magnificent project which strongly will contribute to Stockholm’s status as one of the world’s most beautiful and attractive cities”, says Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of the Rezidor Hotel Group. “Our roots are Scandinavian and our expertise is global. We bring a combination of global networks and a worldwide sales and marketing machine that is hard to match. This will truly be a unique facility.” Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre with its spectacular design and shimmering roof top will be a unique venue, placing Stockholm among the select group of cities around the globe offering congress facilities of this magnitude. Up to 3,000 people can gather in the very flexible auditorium, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and an ideal environment with perfect acoustics for concerts, performances and exclusive product launches. Banqueting facilities offer splendid views for up to 2,000 people of the City Hall and lake Malaren. The project also includes Park Inn Stockholm Waterfront. The hotel is part of one of Europe’s fastest growing and most dynamic hotel chains, and will have a spectacular location overlooking lake Malaren and City Hall. It includes 418 comfortable and well equipped rooms with views over Stockholm, an all-day restaurant, bar and fitness centre. Park Inn Stockholm Waterfront will be a hotel and a meeting point for everyone – locals and visitors alike. Stockholm Waterfront also includes an extensive office complex comprising the 26,000 sqm Waterfront Building. Rezidor is actively developing the Park Inn brand in Sweden. Another Park Inn hotel is being built in Stockholm, in the Hammarby Sjöstad area. You could say that the hotel, with 177 rooms, will be Stockholm’s first Ski resort since it offers a ski in/ski out location. The hotel, with 18 storeys, will be a landmark in the area, and is expected to open in 2009. Yet another Park Inn hotel is being developed in Sweden. Located in one of Scandinavia’s fastest growing areas, the Western Harbour in Malmö, the hotel is neighbour to the spectacular Turning Torso, Malmö University and the World Trade Center. The hotel will offer 220 rooms and is scheduled to open during spring 2010.
