Long-Time DH&R Executive Tapped to Lead Desert Property
Greg Miller, vice president and managing director for Destination Hotels & Resorts, announced that Stan Kantowski recently was named general manager of the Miramonte Resort & Spa, a Mediterranean-inspired desert resort in one of the country's most affluent communities. In his new position, Kantowski will lead the resort's team and continue to oversee the extensive $16 million transformation of this luxury property, making Miramonte a truly one-of-a-kind retreat for leisure visitors as well as expanding service for conference and meeting attendees.

Kantowski brings an impressive range of experience from his 19 years of working in the hotel industry. Prior to his arrival at Miramonte Resort & Spa, Kantowski served as the general manager at the Resort at Squaw Creek where he was instrumental in repositioning the property's traditional resort accommodations as a condominium-hotel. With his determination and attention to detail, Kantowski was also led a $60 million property improvement project at the Resort at Squaw Creek. In addition, Kantowski's experience includes: acting as general manager of the newly constructed Magnolia Hotel in Houston, director of operations at Sunriver in Oregon, director of restaurants at The Broadmoor, in Colorado Springs, and similar food & beverage and finance positions at La Quinta Resort and Club and the Hyatt Regency Kauai.
As general manager of Miramonte, Kantowski will oversee more than 225 staff members, 215 rooms and a world-class spa. Kantowski also will help complete the property's additional renovations, which will include a new upscale, yet causal destination restaurant; continued enhancement of the guest rooms, including the installation of flat-screen TVs; a new entrance and arrival experience, and a new pool concept uniting the famed WELL Spa and the grand pool.

With an impressive educational background that includes a doctorate in Business Administration from University of Southern California, a master of science degree in Education from Loyola University - as well as being fluent in English, Polish, and Italian.
