Six Senses Resorts & Spas Announces New Management Roles

Naim N Maadad – Area Director, Middle East. Naim Maadad has been promoted to area director for the Middle East region. He previously held the position of area general manager of Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay, Oman (formally branded Evason Hideaway) an 82-pool villa property scheduled to open January 15 2008. In his new role, he will oversee the general management of Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay and all hosted Six Senses Spas operations in the region, in addition to pursuing new resort and spa developments within the Middle East. He will report directly the managing director for Six Senses Resorts & Spas in Europe.
Naim joined Six Senses from the Sunset Beach Resort at Al Kobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he held the role of resort manager. Naim’s previous roles have seen him based in Tokyo and Yokohama, Japan; Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and in Queensland’s Gold Coast and Hayman Island in his native Australia.
He earned an MBA from International Management Centre – an affiliate of Oxford/Surrey University of London, a Diploma of Business (Hospitality Management) from the University of South Australia, plus other certificates in food and beverage service and management, in Australia.

Peter Nilsson – Area General Manager, Soneva Kiri, Thailand. Peter Nilsson has been promoted to the role of area general manager from his previous position as general manager of Soneva Kiri, located on Koh Kood to the south-east of the Gulf of Thailand. In addition to overseeing the general management of Soneva Kiri, he will take on the responsibility of overseeing other Six Senses Resorts & Spas properties. The new position elevates him to the Core layer executive team reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer of Six Senses Resorts & Spas.
Prior to this position, Peter was general manger of Soneva Gili - the Maldives first all-over-water resort – a sister property of Soneva Fushi in the Maldives. He relocated to Soneva Gili from his previous role as resort manager at Evason Latitude Hua Hin, a property also operated by Six Senses Resorts & Spas. By that time, his Asia experience had covered almost a decade and had been accumulated in locations such as Singapore, Vietnam, East Timor and Thailand.
Peter, a Swedish national, began his hospitality career in his home country and in London, then working his way through the ranks in a variety of countries and cultures including Japan, Norway, Singapore, Russia and within the cruise ship industry. He accumulated proficiency in several languages during this time.

Frank Wesselhoefft – General Manager, Evason Dalat Villas & Six Senses Spa, Vietnam. Frank Wesselhoefft has been promoted to general manager of Evason Dalat Villas & Six Senses Spa, located in the highlands of Vietnam. In his new role he directs and coordinates the day-to-day operation with across the board responsibilities to all matters that relate to the property, reporting directly to the chief operating officer of Six Senses Resorts & Spas. Frank was most recently resort manager at Soneva Gili in the Maldives. Prior to this held the same position at Soneva Fushi in the Maldives and at Six Senses Hideaway Hua Hin in Thailand (formally branded Evason Hideaway).

After graduating from the Hotel School Cologne in Germany, Frank started his hospitality career in his homeland Germany before moving to the United Kingdom to join the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London, where he performed several management roles associated with hotel operations over a period of five years.

Frank is based at Evason Villas Dalat in Vietnam.

Jankarl Farrugia – Director of Sales and Marketing, Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay, Oman. Jankarl Furragia has joined Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay (formally branded Evason Hideaway) as the director of sales and marketing for the property at Zighy Bay in the Sultanate of Oman. The 82-pool villa Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay is scheduled to open January 15 2008. In this role he is responsible for the properties sales and marketing activities, reporting to the area director of sales and marketing for Indian Ocean and Middle East region.

After completing his Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies at the University of Malta with Honours, he began his career with Alitalia Airlines in his native Malta as a commercial executive. He joined Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay from his previous position as sales and marketing manager for a leading destination management company in Malta, S.I.T Ltd, where he was responsible for account management, sales events and business development. Prior to this, he held various posts with Corinthia Hotels International in Malta and abroad.

Jankarl is based at Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay.
