Netherlands: Golden Tulip Welcomes Hotel In Gouda

Golden Tulip Hospitality Group has contracted a new Golden Tulip hotel in the Dutch city Gouda – the property will feature a minimum of 98 rooms and is scheduled to open by the end of 2008/ early 2009.

Golden Tulip Hospitality, the Municipality of Gouda, Bonteval Vastgoed and Park King signed on Saturday June 23rd the agreements pertaining to the whole project named “Bolwerk”, this included the lease agreement for the Golden Tulip Gouda.

The ‘Bolwerk’ project will consist of 20 houses and 53 luxurious apartments, a hotel with over 98 rooms and seven meeting areas and a parking space with a capacity of over 360 spots. The hotel will be fully operated by Golden Tulip Hospitality Management BV.

The Golden Tulip Gouda will offer 98 modern and spacious guestrooms catering both the needs of business and leisure travelers. The hotel will be fully implemented with Golden Tulip’s design room concept, a brand new BRANCHE Restaurant, Bar & Lounge as well as Golden Tulip’s unique meeting concept “Let’s Meet Again”.

The BRANCHE Restaurant, Bar & Lounge, the meeting rooms and reception will be situated in a historical building alongside a canal. The hotel rooms will have a carre form, with views of either the hotel gardens or the historical city of Gouda. Furthermore there will be ample parking space provided in the new build parking which will be beneath the hotel.

The Mayor of Gouda W.M. Cornelis comments: “ the board is extremely pleased with the development of the project “Bolwerk”. The building of a hotel has been on top of our priority list and it is primordial for the growth ambitions in the tourist market of Gouda. This project brings important advances to the city as the expansion of supply of homes and parking facilities in the centre of the city.”

With the addition of the Golden Tulip Gouda the current hotel portfolio in the Netherlands comprises of 78 hotels in 57 cities.
