Le Normandie is poised to embrace an extraordinary new chapter as it welcomes world-renowned French chef Anne-Sophie Pic in late Q3 2025.

This heralds a new era that pays homage to an illustrious past while stepping boldly into the future.

Anne-Sophie Pic is celebrated for her bold vision and avant-garde approach to gastronomy. Her philosophy, Suffusion, redefines French cuisine through intricate aromatic layers and deep connections between ingredients - an ethos that has garnered her global acclaim, including being named Best Chef in France by The Best Chef Awards.

Her restaurant, Maison Pic*** in Valence, has been awarded three Michelin stars every year since 2007 and was heralded Best Restaurant in the World by Tripadvisor in the Best 2024 Ranking.

Since its inception in 1958, Le Normandie has not only been the first French fine dining restaurant in Thailand, but also a beacon of fine dining, continually setting the standard for culinary excellence. Through every era, its spirit of refinement has endured. This next chapter is no exception. This exciting collaboration between Groupe Pic and Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok promises to be a defining moment in Bangkok’s fine dining landscape, reflecting a shared vision of excellence, unparalleled hospitality, and a legacy of tradition and innovation,” said Anthony Tyler, General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Bangkok.

"I firmly believe that cuisine is a universal language, a space where cultures meet. Opening a new chapter at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, an iconic institution that embodies elegance and refinement, is an adventure that truly excites me. I look forward to creating an experience where French gastronomy engages in a dialogue with the vibrant energy of Thai culture." stated Anne-Sophie Pic.

With a fully reimagined space and an inspired new design, envisioned in partnership with designers Humbert & Poyet, Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie will seamlessly blend heritage with modernity, preserving the elegance of its past while ushering in a fresh era of contemporary French cuisine. This exciting transformation promises to be an extraordinary culinary destination that will offer both local residents and visitors an experience that transcends time.

About Chef Anne-Sophie Pic

A leading figure in French gastronomy, Anne-Sophie Pic is renowned for her sensitive yet bold cuisine, distinguished by its unique aromatic complexity. Guided by her philosophy of “Suffusion”, she creates deeply emotional culinary experiences, masterfully playing with textures and flavour pairings and enhancing each dish with a refined and multifaceted approach to wine.

Constantly seeking new harmonies, Anne-Sophie Pic draws inspiration from her travels, encounters and ongoing dialogues. At the Pic Lab—her centre for culinary research and innovation—she and her team delve into the aromatic potential of ingredients, driven by the values she holds dear: generosity, creativity and the spirit of transmission. Her distinctive culinary signature now extends far beyond France’s borders, with restaurants around the world that reflect her personal interpretation of each region’s terroir.

Her work and dedication have earned her numerous accolades. In 2007, she was awarded three Michelin stars for her flagship restaurant, Maison Pic, continuing the legacy of her family’s three-starred lineage. In 2011, she was named World’s Best Female Chef by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. More recently, Restaurant Pic*** in Valence was named Best Restaurant in the World by Tripadvisor in 2024. Celebrated for her creativity and pioneering spirit, Anne-Sophie Pic is now the most Michelin-starred female chef in the world.

About the Pic Group

For over 30 years, Anne-Sophie Pic, together with her husband David Sinapian, who oversees the group’s management and strategy, has worked to develop and grow the Pic Group, guided by values of boldness, curiosity and sensitivity.

In 1997, the duo took over Maison Pic, continuing three generations of triple-Michelin-starred chefs, while infusing the family legacy with their contemporary vision of gastronomy. They transformed Pic Valence into a destination of wonder and emotion, bringing together the worlds of the Pic***** Relais & Châteaux hotel, the André bistro, the Bar Pic and the three-starred Restaurant Pic***, named Best Restaurant in the World by Tripadvisor in 2024. They also created the Pic Lab, a culinary innovation hub where Anne-Sophie collaborates with her teams to craft her latest creations.

While Valence remains the heart of the group, Pic now has a global presence with over 600 employees. In Lausanne, Paris, Dubai and Hong Kong, Anne-Sophie Pic and David Sinapian conceive, with their teams, each location as a stage for extraordinary gastronomic experiences, where every craft—culinary, hospitality, design—converges to bring the chef’s vision to life.

The Pic Group also stands out for its culinary expertise at prestigious events, from the 2023 State Banquet for King Charles III at the Château de Versailles to the Grand Dîner du Louvre in 2025, further cementing its place in the world of contemporary haute cuisine.
