“Speak, Memory: A Conversation Across Time” at the Casa Cabana is open to the public from April 9-11.
Conceived as an homage to unique craft skills, the exhibition showcases contemporary artisans and reaffirms the essential role of handmade, materials and memory in creative endeavors.
Curated by Deborah Needleman and presented by Cabana Magazine founder Martina Mondadori, the exhibition – inspired by Vladimir Nabokov's memoir – brings together a group of international craftspeople whose work embodies a dialogue between past and present. Featured artisans include Emily Adams Bode, Dahyeon Yoo, Green River Project & Bode, James Cherry, Sophie Coryndon, Sophie Wilson and Peter Schlesinger.
A key partner of the project, LVMH Métiers d’Art has provided materials from its ateliers and actively supports initiatives to safeguard rare expertise. A "living archive of craftsmanship", this strategic division of the Group has since its founding in 2015 been dedicated to preserving and supporting the evolution of exceptional craftsmanship in such skills as leather crafting, metalwork and precious textile manufacturing.
"Speak, Memory" embodies LVMH Métiers d’Art's vision of living, enduring and resolutely future-facing craft. The exhibition is a celebration of handmade, sustainable creation and the precious bonds that connect people, materials and time.
