For the "Hotel Design Award 2025", which will be presented at the 196+ forum Milan on April 7, the 11-member expert jury has nominated ten hotels from eight countries out of a total 26 applicants from 13 European countries.

Christian Walter, Jury chairman and Global CEO of the PKF hospitality group: "Overall, we had a pool of 26 very high-quality applications for the Hotel Design Award 2025. At the beginning of the jury meeting, there was one clear consensus amongst the jury members: It would be a really tough decision. However, in the end, the ten nominees all show a distinct interior and exterior design language corresponding with the given surroundings and, in many cases, the existing buildings. Also, strong elements of story-telling were identifiable in all ten cases."

The award criteria include the originality of the architectural and design concept, the resulting quality of the building and facade, as well as the interior design. The focus is on the design approach to a compelling hotel concept. Three nominees come from Italy, two from Netherlands and one hotel each from Germany, Denmark, Greece, Switzerland and Czechia.

Michael Widmann, Global CEO of the PKF hospitality group: "In the last ten years, the Hotel Design Award has become the most coveted European hospitality architecture and design award. From all applicants, the jury has selected ten nominees from eight countries, which share one characteristic: their design connects to and interacts with the location and existing structures. These are ten stunning products."
