The nickname originated during the Edo period due to the city’s history as a major center for the rice trade and other commerce and has lasted as Osaka's vibrant food scene continues to attract visitors from all over Japan and the world.

The 418-room hotel is located in JP Tower Osaka, with each room arranged in an L-shape along the perimeter of the building, allowing guests to enjoy different views from the east, west, north and south.
Specialty Suites on each floor take guests "above the clouds," offering spectacular views from approximately 170 meters above the ground. In addition to check-in and check-out assistance, guests staying in Specialty and Suites can enjoy breakfast, snacks, afternoon tea, cocktails and nightcaps served in the Specialty Salon on the 38th floor.
The interior design is inspired by the philosophy of Sen no Rikyu, a tea master born in Sakai, Osaka and known for his “spirit of seeing things clearly.”
The hotel authentically reflects the refined culture of Osaka with its impeccable hospitality and inspiring experiences that invite guests into a world of luxurious relaxation.

THE MOMENT GRILL & DINING features a "Farm to Table & Charcoal Grill" buffet with over 80 dishes from Japan and beyond. TEPPANYAKI MIZUKI, a Japanese restaurant with a 12-meter counter and city views, celebrates Osaka’s rich culinary culture with teppanyaki dishes.
The hotel’s fitness center, GYM, is located on the 30th floor where guests can enjoy a workout while taking in fabulous views of Osaka.

The new hotel is in JP Tower Osaka, Umeda, known for its modern architecture, shopping, and nightlife. It's directly connected to the West Exit of JR Osaka Station in the Osaka Station City complex, featuring a rooftop garden, dining, and a cinema.
Umeda also has extensive underground malls like Whity Umeda and Diamor Osaka, ideal for summer exploration. The district is about 30 minutes by public transport from Osaka Itami International Airport.
