Developed in partnership with owner Molo Hotel Group and UK-based management group Lighthouse Hotel Management, both Slominski family owned companies, the resorts will mark IHG’s debut on the celebrated Caribbean island and are all poised to open by 2027.
Set on Turks & Caicos’ picturesque Grace Bay, the properties will be brought to life by Glasgow-based architecture and interior design studio Ica, working in partnership with Turks & Caicos-based Conservative Architecture and Miami-based landscape architecture firm EDSA.
Visitors and locals alike will be presented with three distinct island respites:
- InterContinental Turks & Caicos: Boasting a coveted beachfront location, the new-build InterContinental Turks & Caicos will exude approachable sophistication spanning seven stories. The all-suite property will be comprised of 59 spacious retreats offering panoramic ocean vistas. A ground floor restaurant and bar, outdoor pool, on-site fitness center and signature Club InterContinental lounge will encourage guests to relax and rejuvenate at their desired pace. Following InterContinental’s announcement of its distinctive global brand evolution, guests also can expect to enjoy culturally rich experiences that expand minds and satisfy desires for knowledge.
- Kimpton Turks & Caicos: The 192-room new-build Kimpton Turks & Caicos will offer a sense of retreat at every step. In addition to its awe-inspiring shoreline setting, the boutique luxury property will feature three outdoor pools as well as a spa and fitness center. An impressive seven dining options will include a beachfront restaurant, rooftop bar, poolside bars, ice cream and coffee parlor, juice bar as well as a ground floor restaurant and lobby bar. As with all Kimptons, beloved perks such as morning coffee and tea, evening social hour, “Forgot It? We’ve Got It!” amenity program, in-room yoga mats, complimentary bicycles and pet-friendly policies will further elevate guests’ stays.
- Hotel Indigo Turks & Caicos: Just steps away from the InterContinental and Kimpton resorts, Hotel Indigo Turks & Caicos will bring to life the Hotel Indigo brand’s ethos as The World’s Neighborhood Hotel. The resort, which emulates the beautiful, laid-back vibe of its surrounding neighborhood – from the design and décor to the dishes served on property – will invite guests to discover something new that only Turks & Caicos can offer. The 56-room resort will be spread over one new building as well as two existing structures that will undergo a complete transformation. Guests can mingle amongst the locals at the on-site restaurant, lobby bar or coffee shop, while an outdoor pool and fitness room will be available exclusively for those staying on-property.
Paul Adan, Regional SVP of Development, Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean for IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “As we expand IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle presence across the Americas, we’re doing so with thoughtful intention. Turks & Caicos is one of the Caribbean’s most spectacular destinations, and we’re excited to mark the company’s much-anticipated debut there with our InterContinental, Kimpton and Hotel Indigo brands. These stunning havens will welcome visitors and locals alike with unique, yet complementary experiences. We also are especially thrilled to expand our partnership with Molo Hotel Group.”
These openings represent an exciting expansion of Molo Hotel Group and Lighthouse Hotel Management’s IHG portfolio.
Molo Hotel Group, privately owned by the Slominski family, was formed in 2017 as a developer and owner-operator. The group has seven hotels in operation, with a further five under construction.
Lighthouse Hotel Management has a multi-talented team with a wealth of experience who continually strive to achieve efficient and profitable operations.
The advantage of being privately owned allows for decisions to be made quickly and swiftly capitalize on opportunities.
The owner and operator currently have two Vignette Collection hotels in Europe – the recently opened The Halyard Liverpool and Hotel Alexandra, opening in Rome in 2025.
Ross Morrow, Managing Director, Molo Hotel Group, commented: “These new developments mark a significant milestone for Molo Hotel Group and reflect our unwavering commitment to luxury hospitality. Each of these properties brings a unique personality and charm.” Ross emphasized, “This expansion is a testament to our confidence in the resilience and vibrancy of the hospitality industry. We are excited to contribute to the allure of Turks & Caicos and provide our guests with unparalleled experiences that will leave a lasting impression.”
Stephen Bench, Managing Director, Lighthouse Hotel Management, expanded: “Our excitement goes beyond the elegant architecture and luxurious amenities. It is about becoming an integral part of Turks & Caicos, weaving our story into the fabric of this beautiful destination, and contributing positively to its economic and cultural tapestry. We aim to be a catalyst for economic growth, job creation and meaningful partnerships with Turks & Caicos.”
Hon. Charles Washington Misick, Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, stated: “The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing of IHG/Molo Hotels is a significant step towards a sustainable future for hospitality in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Three hotels, InterContinental, Kimpton and Hotel Indigo, will be introduced, enhancing our tourism product and creating employment opportunities.” He further added, “Partnerships with the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College and Turks and Caicos Islands Sports Commission are underway, demonstrating the Government's commitment to developing human capital and elevating tourism offerings. This project will bring economic growth, embrace local talent, and enrich our economy.”
Angela Musgrove, CEO of Invest Turks and Caicos expresses the agency’s optimism for the positive impact these resorts will have on the Turks & Caicos Islands, stating: "We believe that these developments will not only bolster our tourism sector, but also significantly contribute to the overall well-being of our society. Attracting such investment to the islands is essential for enhancing the economy and fostering the growth of local enterprises through affiliations with the resorts. Moreover, it will fortify the educational opportunities for the local population through the close relationship and programmes which have been established with the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College. Invest TCI is pleased to work with Molo to ensure that we collaborate with stakeholders so that the maximum impact of the development can be felt within the community.”
Situated on the north coast of Turks & Caicos’ Providenciales and part of the Princess Alexandra National Park, Grace Bay Beach often is lauded as one of the best beaches in the world, including on TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards.
Celebrated for its pristine turquoise waters and sublimely soft white sand beaches, Grace Bay is protected by an extensive barrier reef, making it an ideal destination for scuba diving and snorkeling.
Those seeking adventure beyond the sea will appreciate Turks & Caicos’ coastal hiking trails, birdwatching and scenic wetlands.
Demonstrating IHG’s strategic focus and investment in luxury and lifestyle globally, these latest signings reflect momentum in the Americas region where 12 percent of signings in 2023 sat within the portfolio.
Globally, IHG’s six luxury and lifestyle brands continue to represent a growing proportion of IHG with over 850 open and pipeline hotels.*
