IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies with more than 6,000 open hotels across 100 countries, extends its partnership with Dinso Resort Co., Ltd, one year on from Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection successfully converting into IHG’s system.
Opening in 2024, the 166-room Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang, Vignette Collection joins Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection and Sindhorn Midtown Bangkok, Vignette Collection to represent a trio of Thai properties featured within IHG’s first collection brand.
Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang, Vignette Collection rebrands from the former Emerald Resort Koh Chang to enter IHG’s system in 2024 following extensive renovation and closure since February 2023.
Set to reach 100 properties in 10 years, Vignette Collection provides the next generation of luxury and lifestyle travellers with one-of-a-kind-stays in destinations to remember, enhanced with authentically storied experiences.
Saowarin Chanprakaisi, Senior Director, Development, South East Asia and Korea, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “It’s fantastic to be extending our partnership with the Dinso Resort team one year on from our first collaboration in Phuket which saw Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection benefit from IHG’s scale and enterprise quickly.
We are seeing the conversion trend continue in Thailand, across the region and globally. In the first half of 2023 around 40% of our global openings and signings were conversions while in Thailand, 50% of our hotel openings this year are conversions. It’s exciting to be welcoming high-quality properties into our system, across a range of brands, as ownerships are keen to partner with us and access the power of IHG’s systems.”
Pattranit Mahattanawisit, Managing Director, Dinso Resort Co., Ltd said: “The IHG team has been a great partner through the conversion of Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection and we believe the brand is a great fit for our properties, enabling us to retain the unique experiences and services the hotels provide while benefitting from IHG’s global and local expertise and enterprise.
“Koh Chang is a wonderful destination that enables visitors to enjoy a different type of beach experience, that is more laidback and relaxing, and far from the bustle of the city. I’m looking forward to debuting the brand in this island destination, introducing more international and domestic travellers to a largely undiscovered gem of Thailand.”
A popular destination for domestic travellers, Koh Chang is Thailand’s third largest island and a five-hour drive from Bangkok followed by a 15-minute ferry ride.
Popularly known as Elephant Island because of its shape, it is famed for the Koh Chang Marine National Park consisting of dozens of unspoiled islands with snorkelling and diving opportunities as well as pristine beaches and wide range of wildlife living amidst lush rainforests.
Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang, Vignette Collection is a beachfront property located on the white sandy Klong Prao Beach on the Eastern side of Koh Chang. Facilities include five restaurants & bars, 750 square metres of meeting spaces, swimming pool, spa and fitness centre.
It joins the global Vignette Collection portfolio in 2024, alongside Convent Square Lisbon and Casa da Companhia in Porto, Portugal, Yours Truly DC in the U.S., Hotel X Brisbane Fortitude Valley in Australia, Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok in Thailand and Th8 Palm Dubai Beach Resort with 18 hotels in the pipeline, and looks to reach 100 hotels by 2031*.
