Seattle's art-themed luxury boutique hotel, Alexis, has been voted one of the top 500 hotels in the world by Travel + Leisure magazine. The January 2007 issue highlights the best hotels, resorts, lodges, inns and safari camps across the globe as voted on by T + L's travel editors. Exquisite service, top-notch guest rooms and luxurious amenities are just some of the deciding factors that helped the Alexis Hotel secure the prestigious distinction. The hotel also received the recognition in 2004 and 2005.

"We are honored to be included in Travel + Leisure's 'Best Hotels in the World List' for a third time," said Andrew Wright, General Manager of the Alexis Hotel. "As a Kimpton Hotel, we strive to provide the highest level of hospitality and premier amenities for our guests, so we are extremely proud to be recognized as one of the world's top luxury hotels by such a highly regarded group of travel experts."

Throughout the year, T + L's travel editors search high and low for hotels that stand out among their competitors. Everything from exclusive in-room services to the comfort factor is evaluated when deciding on the final list. The Alexis received an impressive score of 81.38 out of 100, giving a nod to some of the hotel's innovative amenities including a permanent, rotating exhibition of Northwest art, themed luxury suites and decadent Etherea Salon and Spa.

The Alexis Hotel will embark on a $5 million refresh in early 2007, updating the hotel's décor and amenities to create an unparalleled guest experience. The Alexis will offer uninterrupted service during the carefully phased remodel, slated for completion in June 2007.

Known as "A Work of Art," the historic Alexis Hotel is an AAA Four-Diamond hotel that showcases the distinctive diversity and culture of the Pacific Northwest through displays of original artwork and seasonal art exhibits throughout the hotel. Located on 1007 First Avenue at Madison Street, the Alexis Hotel is one block east of the ferry terminal and Seattle's waterfront and within walking distance of Pike Place Market and historic Pioneer Square.
