Michael is no stranger to Six Senses as he was the pre-opening general manager at Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain in China from July 2104 to October 2015. Following that position, he became general manager of Vinpearl Luxury Nha Trang in Vietnam. He brings more than 30 years of experience across international and independent hotels and groups with roles that included key operational positions with Sheraton in Shanghai and Tianjin, Hilton in Hong Kong and Tokyo, Lyford Cay Club in Nassau, Bahamas, Fuchun Resort Hangzhou, Cape Sol Phuket and the Landison Tourism Group Hangzhou as chief operating officer.
A Canadian national, Michael spent most of his working years in Asia. He has a bent for online media and interior design, and enjoys watching movies during his down time. A true food and beverage enthusiast, dining out and a great California Cabernet are among his pleasures. He is accompanied by his Thai national wife, Nongnuth.
