As an ancient therapy, the bamboo massage not only brings deep relaxation but also energises the mind and drains the body of toxins. By soothing the muscles and joints, the use of heated bamboo sticks encourages the transmission of natural energy, bringing a sensation of rejuvenation to the body and mind.
Like every ESPA treatment, the spa therapists will be able to bespoke each massage by allowing guests to choose their preferred essential oil from the award-winning brand’s wide variety. The choice of oils depends on the effect required: energising and invigorating or relaxing and soothing.
The ESPA bamboo massage can be enjoyed on its own or as part of a ritual:- The massage focuses on the legs and the back, using smooth and fluid movements. The canes allow a deeper movement on the body, to further stretch the muscles and relieve tensions.
Price: 210 Euros for 80 minutes
- The ritual starts with a full body exfoliation, a facial scrub, stretching of the joints, the bamboo massage, and finally a scalp massage. It offers a complete holistic experience and an even deeper sensation of relaxation.
Price: 280 Euros for 120 minutes
From October, hotel guests will be able to continue their relaxation around the pool, which will be transformed into an indoor haven of tranquility until the following spring. This is thanks to the hard top structure which will cover the pool area and was designed by Karl Lagerfeld as part of the renovation project. The world-renowned fashion designer teamed up with Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo earlier this year to create a brand new space, Odyssey, including the pool, the Joël Robuchon restaurant around it and the surrounding gardens. By covering the area, the hotel offers year round access to the pool.
About Métropole ESPA Monte-CarloIn November 2012, the Métropole ESPA Monte-Carlo, the only ESPA in France, reopened its doors to guests and non-residents. Located within the Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo, the spa had been closed whilst, Odyssey, the pool area and the new Joël Robuchon restaurant were being renovated by the world’s most renowned fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. The spa below the first floor reopened with a new selection of bespoke treatments inspired by the Ancient Greek Mythology theme chosen by Karl Lagerfeld to renovate the above premises.
The Métropole ESPA Monte-Carlo, designed by Jacques Garcia, offers, in addition to the existing selection, a variety of treatments from a new Grecian inspired menu aimed at both men and women and designed to relax and rejuvenate. Using luxurious ingredients the range presents the perfect combination of personalisation, relaxation and long-lasting results. All treatments are carried out within the spa’s beautifully appointed rooms, each designed to create a peaceful environment whilst ensuring guests’ absolute privacy.
The ESPA brand has established itself worldwide as the leader in the spa industry thanks to a range of natural and highly efficient products. Susan Harmsworth CEO & Founder of ESPA International says, “Métropole ESPA Monte-Carlo is entirely dedicated to the guest’s well-being and is a retreat where they can escape and reconnect with their senses”.
