InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the world’s most global hotel company, was recently presented with six prestigious awards at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards.

At the event, four of IHG’s most impressive and service-orientated properties won awards, while InterContinental Hotels & Resorts was presented with ‘Best Hotel Chain in the Middle East’ - the fifth time it has won this award in six years.

Properties from the IHG portfolio recognised for their outstanding performance in regional cities include:

• InterContinental Jordan with the ‘Best Business Hotel in Amman’
• InterContinental Riyadh with the ‘Best Business Hotel in Riyadh’
• InterContinental Jeddah with the ‘Best Business Hotel in Jeddah’
• InterContinental Citystars with the ‘Best Business Hotel in Cairo’
• InterContinental Phoenicia with the ‘Best Business Hotel in Beirut’

It is the fourth time the InterContinental Riyadh and InterContinental Phoenicia have been honored with these prestigious accolades, after winning in 2003, 2004 and 2005.

The awards ceremony, which brought together leading executives from the travel and tourism industry, was held in Dubai during Arabian Travel Market.
“We are thrilled to have been recognised as the best hotel chain in the Middle East, as well as receiving individual awards for five of our premier properties. What is even more noteworthy is that InterContinental Citystars won ‘Best Business Hotel in Cairo’, despite only being in its second year of operation.

“These awards, voted by seasoned business travellers, are a tribute to the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand. By understanding our guests' requirements, we deliver a personalised experience through a consistently superior service and luxury product,” said Chris Moloney, chief operating officer, InterContinental Hotels Group, Middle East and Africa.
