With its premium location overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa truly celebrates the relaxed California coastal lifestyle. The hotel is celebrating 30 years of excellence in Orange County with a Dedication Ceremony unveiling the $70 million renovation that was completed earlier this year. The ceremony is taking place at the property on Tuesday, May 2nd at 11:30 am with lunch to follow. VIPs such as Mayor Don Webb, Marriott Senior Vice President David Marriott, Newport Beach Hotel and Spa General Manager Bill Gunderson, and owner Minaz Abji from Host Hotels & Resorts will gather for the special day.

"We have a lot to celebrate," says General Manager Bill Gunderson. "From the room renovations to the revamped meeting space to the new spa, guests will notice the difference the moment they enter the hotel. With the addition of the specialty dining room and the new front entrance and lobby, the hotel looks spectacular. We are dedicating ourselves to providing unrivalled experiences for our guests and new opportunities for our associates and the surrounding community."

Guests now enter the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa through the newly designed porte cochere and experience first hand the spacious lobby, feeling like they have stepped into a brand new hotel. The grand lobby looks out onto scenic views of the Pacific and lush landscaping, creating the perfect backdrop for lounging on comfy chaises by the hotel's pool and whirlpool while thirsty sunbathers make use of a new poolside bar.

All of the hotel's 532 guest rooms have been stylishly redesigned, creating private enclaves of comfort. Each room includes the newly introduced Marriott bed, with an 11-inch mattress with feather bed topper, 300-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets, sheeted duvet, six down pillows and a colorful bed scarf. Flat screen TVs, luxurious bathrooms with glass-encased full showers, granite countertops and premium bathroom fixtures–along with wood and glass accents–create a sophisticated feel for the nautically inspired rooms. The hotel has also added 20 luxury suites as part of its renovation, including five penthouse suites with ocean views. Two of the penthouses are 1,500 square feet Presidential Suites, each with connecting bedrooms, marble bathrooms and plasma screen TVs.

Another facet that is exclusively new to the hotel is the 14,000 square-foot, world-class Pure Blu, the Spa at Newport Beach–a part of Marriott’s Revive Spa collection Complete with 16 elegantly appointed treatment rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness center, hair and nail salon along with spa pool with outdoor cabanas, this serene oasis welcomes guests who come to enjoy exclusive spa treatments, work up a sweat in the gym or at one of the many fitness classes, glam it up in the hair salon or just relax and unwind by the lap pool.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Sam & Harry’s, features all the specialties of a traditional steakhouse complimented with American contemporary cuisine. Set in a casually sophisticated venue, Sam & Harry’s is open daily for lunch and dinner. The indoor dining room features sweeping views of the hotel's pool area and lushly landscaped grounds, and an outdoor terrace, complete with firepits. It lets diners enjoy the fresh ocean air while they savor the eatery's acclaimed cuisine.

Diners also have the option of sitting down to sushi and a beverage of choice in the hotel's alluring Lobby Lounge. It's the perfect spot to mingle and enjoy a cocktail. Guests on the go can also grab a bite at the Starbucks, serving coffee drinks, pastries, sandwiches and salads from early morning into the evening hours. In addition, there are 40 restaurants within walking distance of the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa.

With 41,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting space, the hotel will draw a business crowd for conferences, association meeting, awards dinners and social events.

The staff of savvy professionals is on hand to offer technical support, assist with scheduling and create delicious menus along with outstanding meeting and social set ups.

The Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa is also the perfect location for group meetings and social events, offering all the pampering services and amenities that have become synonymous with the Marriott name. Located halfway between San Diego and Los Angeles, the hotel is only ten minutes from John Wayne Airport at 900 Newport Center Dr.
