Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) announced today that the Pan Pacific Hotel in San Francisco, Calif., has become the JW Marriott Hotel San Francisco. Situated at San Francisco’s upscale Union Square and within walking distance of the city’s many world famous destinations, the hotel is located at 500 Post Street. The 338-room luxury hotel, managed by Marriott International, is the first JW Marriott in Northern California and the 36th in a collection of exclusive JW Marriott hotels and resorts worldwide. An extensive multi-mullion-dollar renovation is planned over the next two years by the hotel’s owner, Ashford Hospitality Trust (NYSE: AHT).

“We’re delighted to bring the JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts brand to the San Francisco area. This hotel offers guests all the excitement of this great city, and we look forward to delivering the distinctive environments, high levels of personal service, and unique and imaginative dining experiences that are hallmarks of the JW Marriott brand,” said Donna Collings, general manager, JW Marriott Hotel San Francisco. “At JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, our guests seek luxury on their terms with a preference for a more relaxed and authentic luxury experience. We look forward to welcoming our past guests as well as new visitors to this wonderful hotel.”

The 21-story hotel was designed by world renowned architect John C. Portman, and features Italian marble throughout, prominent arches and a dramatic atrium. The interior is decorated in sophisticated colors, combining clean architectural lines with subtle Asian accents. Guest rooms are elegantly appointed and overlook San Francisco’s diverse cityscape. JW Marriott’s new, luxurious bedding will leave guests revived, with plusher mattresses, softer sheets, more pillows and a down comforter nestled inside sheeted duvets. Other in-room amenities include high-speed internet access, Herman Miller Aeron ergonomic desk chair, Bose Wave radios, Gateway LCD flat screen televisions, oversized marble bathrooms with hair dryer and a robe, coffee and tea service, iron and ironing board, and in-room safe and mini-bar.

Ideally situated on the fashionable Post Street at Union Square among a myriad of premier retail and shopping destinations, the JW Marriott San Francisco is adjacent to the city’s financial district, Chinatown and within walking distance to the Moscone Convention Center, Nob Hill, downtown San Francisco, the Embarcadero Center and the cable cars. The property is within 17 miles of San Francisco International Airport and provides convenient access to many nearby attractions, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Fisherman’s Wharf, Yerba Buena Gardens, the Ferry Building and AT&T Stadium.

Ideal for both business and social occasions, the JW Marriott Hotel San Francisco offers over 14,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, including a 4,325-square-foot Olympic ballroom and 14 individual meeting rooms. Technology capabilities include high-speed internet access in all meeting rooms and comprehensive audiovisual facilities. A 24-hour business center is also available to meet guests’ needs.

For dining and entertainment, the JW Marriott Hotel San Francisco is home to the Pacific restaurant, featuring contemporary Californian cuisine with regional selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests can also enjoy cocktails and appetizers in the hotel’s Pacific lobby bar and lounge.

Recreational amenities include a fitness center with 24-hour access with state-of-the-art equipment, and guests can take advantage of tee times at the Lincoln Golf Course, The Presidio or the San Geronimo Golf Club in Marin County. Laundry/valet service and gift shop are also available.

The most elegant and luxurious hotels carrying the Marriott name, JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts cater to discerning travelers who seek purposeful luxury in unique environments.
