JAL Hotels Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Shosuke Machida) announced today that the company will change the name of Hotel Oriental Palace Dalian, which opened on April 20, 2005 in the center of Dalian, China, to “Hotel Nikko Dalian” as of May 23, 2006. Due to the importance of the Dalian market for JAL Hotels Co., Ltd., the company has decided to strengthen its license agreement with the hotel and to change the hotel’s name to incorporate the Nikko brand name.
On the occasion of this name change, the company is also upgrading some of the hotel’s facilities to provide expanded services. The second floor ice cream shop will be reopened as “Café & Deli” on May 1, adding homemade breads and cakes for sale and providing continental breakfast service. In July, a luxury spa, “Karuchi Road,” will open on the fifth floor. This is one of a chain of luxury spas located mainly in Japan’s Hokuriku region, with one spa recently opened in Roppongi, Tokyo, as well. The hotel has also started free shuttle bus services to the airport, synchronized with Japan Airlines’ departures.
