Six Senses Resorts & Spas, proud Title Sponsor of Six Senses Phuket Raceweek 2010, is delighted to announce that Shirley Robertson, double Olympic Gold Medal winner and one of the world’s leading sailors, will be visiting the Evason Phuket in celebration and support of the event.
This is the seventh year that Six Senses has been the main sponsor of Phuket Raceweek, being held this year between the 21st and 25th of July. Over the week, the Evason Phuket becomes the headquarters of the racing fraternity, with sailors and spectators enjoying world class competition as well as world class hospitality throughout the event.
Shirley Robertson will watch the racing from the comfort of Evason Phuket’s various spectator areas around the resort including their private island, Bon Island, which has excellent views of the racing taking place off the South East coast of Phuket. She will be available for press interviews about the racing and discussion with the other VIP guests and spectators.
Evason Phuket is set in 64 acres of beautifully landscaped tropical parkland, gardens and infinity pools with stunning views over the Andaman Sea. Its lower sea view terrace, Into the Beach, hosts the nightly après race parties, where guests and competitors unwind following each day’s high octane, adrenalin pumping racing.
Six Senses Phuket Raceweek is Asia’s most highly regarded regatta venue, with breathtaking, world class competitive racing and equally legendary parties and events each night, hosted by Evason Phuket. John Phillipson, Six Senses Managing Director of Thailand said, ‘Six Senses is thrilled to be sponsoring Phuket Raceweek for the seventh consecutive year. With Bangkok’s troubles earlier in the year, this is a great way to say that Thailand is once again an outstanding place of peace, culture and natural beauty. I want to thank the organizers of Six Senses Phuket Raceweek, Image Asia, as well as the Ao Chalong Yacht Club, Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Sports Authority of Thailand and the Yacht Racing Association of Thailand for their marvellous support.’
