Ms. Helga Otto has been named as the new Resort Manager of the five star resort, Naladhu, situated on the island of Velighandu Huraa amidst the cluster of beautiful island gems of the South Male Atoll in the Maldives.
Helga started in the hotel industry as a receptionist at South Africa’s, Sundown Ranch Hotel. Her first management role came in 2004, where she was promoted to Lodge Manager for Thabana Safari Lodge located in the North West Province of South Africa. During that time she oversaw the daily management of the lodge. She also oversaw the marketing, housekeeping and front of house sections of the resort.
A keen netballer, hockey and tennis player, Helga started a law degree at Potchefstroom University, South Africa before pursuing a career in hospitality. She brings to Naladhu over eight years hotel management experience from working in the hospitality industry. Before joining Naladhu she worked in various managerial positions at leading resorts in Africa such as Jaci’s Tree Lodge, Londolozi Private Game Reserve, Nxabega Safari Lodge, Whispering Pines Country Estate and more recently The Manta Resort as part of management couple in Pemba Island, Tanzania.
