The 100-Yard Diet
"Eat Local" is the slogan of farmers, chefs and organically minded shoppers everywhere these days. Its roots started growing with The 100-Mile Diet; the idea being that the planet, the community and your health benefit when you eat foods grown within a 100-mile radius of where you live.
Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, set on a picturesque Malaysian peninsula, can do even better. Bringing the "eat local" message home, the Gourmet Garden dinner features meals made from produce that's grown right there on the Resort's 48-acre grounds. Call it The 100-Yard Diet.
Before you dine, enjoy a stroll with Executive Chef Billy Akunna through the Resort’s garden and help him pick the ingredients for your dinner. Will it be fragrant strands of lemongrass for the spicy Seafood Tom Yom? Spinach to go with the Marinated Lamb Loin? Or a mix of tropical fruits for a special roasted dessert served with ice nougat? You decide.
Later, sit down to eat under the stars at a special chef's table right in the centre of the lush garden. Eating doesn't get any more local than that!
Visit the idyllic shores of Four Seasons Resort Langkawi and experience organic food the way nature intended.
