Relais & Chateaux, an international association of acclaimed hotels and gourmet restaurants, took top honors at the James Beard Foundation Awards that were presented at a gala in New York City. Relais & Chateaux, known for chefs who have set culinary trends worldwide for half a century, captured four of the top awards for the evening.

The Outstanding Restaurant Award, which the Beard Foundation describes as the national standard-bearer for excellence in food, atmosphere and service, was presented to Relais & Chateaux Grand Chef Daniel Boulud for Daniel. The Outstanding Wine Service Award went to Jean Georges, Eleven Madison Park's Grand Chef Daniel Humm, a former Swiss mountain bike team member, was named the Best Chef in New York City and The French Laundry's Timothy Hollingsworth received the Rising Star Chef Award, as a chef under the age of 30 who is likely to have a significant impact on the food industry in the years to come. The awards gala was held at Lincoln Center on May 3rd.

Relais & Chateaux' celebrated chefs have a reputation for continual innovation, and many come from families with generations of culinary masters. The Association's chefs have collectively earned 360 Michelin stars for their extraordinary dining experiences and have been the creative force behind culinary movements that have influenced gastronomy worldwide.
