The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. announced plans to open its first luxury hotel in Denver, Colorado. The Ritz-Carlton, Denver will open in spring 2007 at 1881 Curtis in the Denver Place Tower Plaza. The 19-story facility, which provides easy access to the 16th Street Mall, as well as Coors Field and lower downtown, will include 157 rooms and 45 suites, plus The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Denver.

"We are delighted to be adding a third property in Colorado, on the heels of our successful ventures in Bachelor Gulch and Aspen Highlands. Denver is clearly a city on the rise, and The Ritz-Carlton, Denver will add to the city's reputation," said Simon Cooper, president and chief operating officer of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.

"The Ritz-Carlton, Denver will achieve a level of luxury that has not been seen before in Denver," said Charlie Biederman, managing partner of the ownership team. "The hotel will put Denver on the map as a first-tier destination for business and leisure travelers."

The hotel property is owned by a partnership led by Charlie Biederman, Steve Roitman and Jim Cobb. Biederman also is an owner of the JW Marriott Denver at Cherry Creek. The development team includes Pahl-Pahl-Pahl, PC, a Denver-based architecture firm, Texteria Interior Design, based in Los Angeles, and the Denver office of Mortenson Construction, all of whom have extensive experience in the hotel industry.

The Ritz-Carlton, Denver will be situated on the first 14 floors of the building with 13,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 6,500 square foot ballroom, a junior ballroom, business center, and lobby lounge. A top-tier restaurant inside the hotel will add to the property's allure.

The spacious guest rooms will measure over 500 square feet each, making them the largest guest rooms in Denver. Lavishly furnished, they will include plush bedding and linens, five-fixture bathrooms, 24-hour room and valet service, LCD televisions, multi-line telephones and high speed Internet access.

The hotel will feature a signature Ritz-Carlton Club Level offering, providing expansive views of downtown as well as an exceptional level of exclusive services. Guests will enjoy sumptuous food presentations and dedicated butler/concierge services.

The plans for The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton include 23 residential units located on floors 15 to 19. The Residences will range in size from 2,000 square feet to 4,500 square feet and owners will enjoy all the services of the hotel, including housekeeping, catering, in-room dining, concierge as well as a private lobby entrance.
