Morgans Hotel Group Co. (NASDAQ: MHGC) (“MHG”), the company that revolutionized the hospitality industry and introduced the world to the boutique hotel, today announced its new initiatives to contribute to the ongoing relief efforts in Haiti.

All Morgans’ bars are featuring a “Classic Daiquiri” on their specialty cocktail lists. The “Classic Daiquiri”, which features Barbancourt Haitian rum, is priced at $12.00 with 100 percent of the proceeds being donated to Haitian relief efforts of the International Rescue Committee, through April 8th, 2010. The IRC is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid, relief and resettlement to refugees and other victims of oppression, or violent conflict or natural disaster.

Morgans Hotel Group will match the amount of money raised through sales of the “Classic Daiquiri”.

All Morgans Hotel Group branded properties located in the United States, continue to promote donations for UNICEF at the time of guest check in. All monies raised are going directly to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, where 100% of all donations support UNICEF’s work for children in Haiti.

Sanderson and St Martins Lane, Morgans Hotel Group’s London destinations are collecting donations for Medicins sans Frontieres’ Haiti Appeal (Doctors Without Borders), and again, 100% of all dollars generated by this effort are going directly to relief initiatives in Haiti.

“With a tragedy of this magnitude, it is easy to feel that one cannot make an impact, especially as an entertainment company,” said Fred Kleisner, CEO of Morgans Hotel Group. “We wanted to use the resources that we have, which are unique to our business, to give our guests the opportunity to contribute to solutions for Haiti today, even if only through nominal donations, and to make a contribution ourselves.”
