HOTEL DE ROME, BERLIN - Opening October 2006
The internal structure is now complete and restoration
work is under way on the historic details of the building,
such as the terrazzo floor and ornate cornicing. A team
of eight is restoring the original mahogany ceiling of
the hotel’s presidential suite; this room was previously
Dresdner Bank’s main boardroom.
MUNICH – Opening April 2007
Work is progressing well with five out of the eight
floors now complete. The sample room has recently
been approved; new pictures will be available shortly.
PRAGUE
Our latest development is a 101-bedroom hotel (including
20 suites) in the centre of Prague, within easy access of
the main commercial district, the Czech Parliament and
Senate, shopping, entertainment and key historical sites.
The hotel will be created from a complex of five
buildings, most of which are historical monuments; the
largest and most important structure is St Thomas’s
Monastery which dates back to the 1300s. The monastery
Munich
will provide the hotel with a picturesque setting of
established courtyards and elegant garden squares, whilst
retaining certain areas for the practising Augustinian
monks who remain in situ. Historic features such as
cloistered terraces, wooden ceilings, wine vaults and
stone arches will be incorporated into the hotel design.
New additions will include a tranquil courtyard
entrance and a glassed-in area which will become the
hotel’s main restaurant, complete with two protected
trees.
Bedrooms will be spacious with views of the courtyard,
monastery chapel and the city's main cathedral. Suites
will include one 150 sq m Presidential Suite and two
Tower Suites spread over three floors with panoramic
views across the rooftops of Prague.
The new hotel will also offer a second bar-restaurant, a
150 sq m function room (with its own pre-function
lobby) in a protected double-height vaulted hall, four
meeting rooms, two boardrooms, business centre, and
sizeable health and fitness centre with gym, sauna,
steam room, four treatment rooms and relaxation area.
