Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) and JLT Group, Inc. announced today their agreement to open The Westin Saint Paul Hotel & Residences at The Bridges of Saint Paul, JLT's planned two-million mixed-use development at the northern gateway on the Mississippi River. The Westin Saint Paul Hotel & Residences will feature a 30-story tower consisting of 250 deluxe guest rooms and suites and 82 residences with expansive river views. Plans call for a total community consisting of homes, shops, restaurants, outdoor recreation, office space and Mythica: The Center for World Mythology and Human Journey, a unique public attraction. The hotel, expected to be open by Fall 2008, will be owned and developed by JLT Group, Inc., managed by Wischermann Partners and licensed as a Westin under a long-term franchise agreement.

"The beauty, amenities and services at The Bridges of Saint Paul will be an ideal environment for Westin," said Sue Brush, senior vice president for Westin Hotels & Resorts. "This partnership will enable Westin to offer guests staying with us in St. Paul the services, products and amenities that provides them a sense of rejuvenation, so that they may feel better when they leave than when they arrived."

"Westin is known for being the best of the best," said Jerry Trooien, developer of The Bridges of Saint Paul and The Westin Saint Paul Hotel & Residences. "Our agreement to open a Westin at The Bridges of Saint Paul speaks to the quality of the entire development and Starwood's belief in this city as a major destination."

Guest and residences will enjoy all of the signature services and amenities that travelers have come to expect from Westin that speak to the brand's positioning around personal renewal, including Westin's Heavenly Bed(R) and Heavenly Bath(R), WestinWORKOUT(R) Powered by Reebok fitness facility and WestinWORKOUT guest rooms. In addition, all Westin hotels in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean are designated as smoke-free as of February 2006.

Additional guest services will include a destination restaurant, cafe and lounge, 24-hour in room dining and catering and 12,000-square feet of meeting space and a ballroom.
