Marriott Hotels & Resorts’ ‘Revive®’ bedding advertising campaign received top honors at the 35th Mobius Awards in Los Angeles, which recognizes creative accomplishments in advertising industry. Marriott won Best in Show for Outdoor Advertising, as well as first place for Mixed Media Campaign in the “Recreation: Tourism, Hotels, Resorts and Spas” category.
The innovative ads celebrate the new Revive® Collection bedding as the hero and the traveler as heroic. The visually stunning murals feature striking images of achievement and performance alongside the new crisp, white bed–clearly the inspiration for an energizing night’s sleep and a day full of promise. The advertisements appeared in airports and on buildings and shuttle busses across the nation.
“These awards clearly demonstrate that our advertising is effectively communicating the new, more luxurious and stylish bedding innovations that are enhancing the guest experience,” said Deborah Fell, senior vice president of marketing strategy. “Using a unique approach to break through the clutter, the high-impact airport dioramas and grouped wall units create a dramatic effect and impact which enables us to connect with travelers by taking advantage of non-traditional media.”
Marriott International, with the help of its agency partners mcgarrybowen and Carat, selected a variety of large format spectaculars, as well as small-sized units, to dominate prime areas of top airports. The campaign was recognized as the most innovative and impactful campaign of the year.
Founded in 1971, the Mobius Advertising Awards competition provides an international forum which advertising agencies; producers; art directors and designers, as well as corporate advertisers, can attain recognition for creative endeavors. Best of Show awards were won by creatives in Australia, the United States, Austria and the United Kingdom. Best of Show nominees were selected from among the 136 First Place Mobius winners. For the overall competition, a worldwide panel of judges looked at 5,100 entries from 34 countries.
