The ground-breaking ceremony for the new Mövenpick Hotel at Stuttgart Airport was held on Thursday, 16 February 2006. The 4-star Business Hotel with 326 rooms is scheduled to welcome its first guests in autumn 2007. The Hotel is to be operated by Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, jointly with investors SHB (Stuttgarter Finanz- und Beteiligungs- Aktiengesellschaft).
The second Mövenpick Hotel, with 326 comfortable rooms, is located in the immediate vicinity of the existing Mövenpick Hotel Stuttgart-Airport, Stuttgart Airport and the new Landesmesse exhibition centre. Exquisite trademark Mövenpick cuisine and refreshments will be served in the Restaurant for 190 guests and in the Lobby and Lounge Bars. A modern conference centre equipped with the very latest audio-visual technology for up to 500 delegates is to provide the ideal setting for events of all kind. Guests will also be able to relax in the 400 m2 spa and leisure centre.
“We’ve waited a long time for this day. We’re delighted and proud of the fact that we are to remain the No.1 at Stuttgart Airport. With its ideal location, right next to the Airport and the new Landesmesse exhibition grounds, the new Hotel will be extremely appealing to our guests,” says Jürgen Köhler, General Manager of the existing Mövenpick Hotel Stuttgart-Airport and Director of Operations Germany Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. “SHB [Stuttgarter Finanz- und Beteiligungs- Aktiengesellschaft] is the ideal partner for realising this project, and today’s ground-breaking ceremony proves we are right on schedule.
