Le French GourMay, the food and wine part of French arts festival Le French May, has been launched in Hong Kong and Macao, the Consulate General of France said Thursday.
The event will run from mid-April through May to feature top- notch chefs, food designers, and wine chateaux in France, as well as local restaurants that offer French menus, said Jean-Pierre Thebault, the consul general.
Thebault said organizers of the good and wine festival will introduce wine from Rhone Valley this year at events such as tastings, dinners and a mini-fair.
French physical chemist Herve This, who works with the French National Agency for Food and Agriculture, will speak at a lecture on molecular gastronomy, or how the knowledge of chemistry and science in general can be used to enhance culinary experiences.
Artists Emmanuelle Becquemin and Stephanie Sagot will present performances on the theme of food, art and elements to ponder on consumption and society.
