Berlin, November 2005. Many people had already recognised his star quality, but now it’s official – Christian Lohse has been awarded a much-coveted star by the jury of the renowned Michelin Guide. On top of that, the Gault Millau had already awarded him 17 points, making the chef de cuisine at Fischers Fritz one of the shoot-ing stars in culinary Berlin.

Lohse has been delighting diners at The Regent Berlin with his culinary creations since September 2004. He follows a clear concept in the elegant gourmet restaurant Fischers Fritz with its view of the historic Gendarmenmarkt: exclusive, refined fish dishes, technical perfection and modern French cuisine with his own hallmark.
Christian Lohse is one of Germany’s most critically acclaimed chefs. During his time at the Windmühle in Bad Oeynhausen, the Michelin Guide’s critics awarded him two stars, while those from Gault Millau gave him 18 points. The master chef has also worked at such illustrious establishments as the three-star restaurant L’Espérance in Vezelay, France, and The Dorchester in London, where he was also the Sultan of Brunei’s private chef. Christian Lohse mastered the art of cooking by chance in France, having originally travelled to the home of haute cuisine to study history.

“We are very proud that Christian Lohse and his team have managed to cook up a star so soon,” explains Wolfgang Nitschke, General Manager of The Regent Berlin. The five-star superior hotel in the heart of Berlin has been the flagship of the luxury hotels group Re-gent International Hotels since last September. “This award further encourages us to keep offering our guests personal service and luxury that appeals to all the senses. At the same time, we see it as an obligation to reaffirm our commitment to maintaining top standards every single day.”

Lohse cooperates closely with Yves Mattagne, chef of the two star restaurant Sea Grill at Radisson SAS Royal Hotel in Brussels, who was just awarded with 19 Gault Millau points. The Radisson Brussels as well as The Regent Berlin is managed by Rezidor SAS Hospitality, the multi brand enterprise and one of the fastest growing hospitality companies worldwide.
