THE AMERICAS

Hilton has appointed Steven Goldman President, Global Development and Real Estate. Goldman, a Cornell graduate, comes from Sunstone Hotel Investors, a company he had joined in 2007 as President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to Sunstone, he was the Executive Vice President, Acquisitions and Development and Chief Investment Officer of Global Hyatt Corporation. In addition, he also held senior management positions with Starwood Hotels and Starwood Capital.

Bill Hornbuckle, Mandalay Bay's President and Chief Operating Officer, will now be serving in the same capacity at the upcoming MGM Grand Atlantic City, due to open in 2012. Hornbuckle previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of MGM Mirage Europe, after spending three years as President and Chief Operating Officer of the MGM Grand Las Vegas. He is also a former President and Chief Operating Officer of Caesars Palace Las Vegas.

Citystay Hotels has named Scott Bunce President and Chief of Operations. He is the former Vice President Sales and Marketing Americas for Hilton International, a former Vice President of Revenue Management for Radisson SAS/Rezidor and a former Vice President of Sales and Revenue Management for Intrawest Destination Resorts.

Bernard de Villèle has been appointed President of JMJ Hospitality, based in Dallas. He comes from Guoman Hotels where he was an Area General Manager, responsible for their three London hotels. De Villèle also served seven years with Taj as Vice President in charge of United Kingdom and United States Operations.

Stephen Joyce has been named President and Chief Operating Officer for Choice Hotels International. He will succeed longstanding Choice Hotels top man Chuck Ledsinger in October 2008. Joyce joined Marriott in 1982 and was most recently the Executive Vice President, Global Development/Owner and Franchise Services.

Bruce Haase has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Global Brand Operations, for Choice Hotels. He has been a Senior Vice President, Brand Operations and International, since May 2007. Haase also held various positions with Marriott, Caterair, as well as the Ryland Group and Goldman Sachs.

Ronald Kramer has joined Griffon Corporation as Chief Executive Officer. He was most recently President of Wynn Resorts.

Wynn Resorts has promoted John Strzemp to Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. He was most recently the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the company. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Treasure Island, President of Treasure Island and Chief Financial Officer of Bellagio.

Tropicana Entertainment has named Scott Butera President. He was most recently the Chief Operating Officer of the bankrupt Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Prior to that, he was President, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Trump Casinos.

Las Vegas Sands has appointed Ed Feiner Senior Vice President and Chief Architect. Feiner was most recently Director of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill's Washington D.C. office.

Marriott International has appointed Adam Sherer Vice President of Marriott ExecuStay. He has been with the company since 1996, overseeing various areas including new product development, brand acquisitions and the development of Marriott’s temporary housing franchise program.

Ronen Nissenbaum has been promoted to Regional Vice President Operations North America for InterContinental Hotels Group. He moves up from his position with the company as Regional Vice President Operations, South Central Region and General Manager of the InterContinental Buckhead.

James Sherwin has been appointed General Manager of the Mark in New York, slated for a late summer 2008 re-opening. He previously served in various executive roles for the Carlyle in New York and the Savoy Group in London.

Tim Herman has taken over from Tom Klein as General Manager of the Swissôtel Chicago. A move up for Herman, after three years at the Fairmont Turnberry Isle as Hotel Manager. His first exposure to Fairmont was at New York’s Plaza, where he was the Director of Food and Beverage. As for Tom Klein, he is now the General Manager (and Regional Vice President) of the Fairmont San Francisco.

Bernd Kuhlen has been promoted from Hotel Manager to General Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall, Jamaica. Prior to joining the property in 2005, he had been the Executive Assistant Manager in charge of Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans. He originally joined the company in 1993.

Eric Freudenthaler is the opening General Manager of the Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun, near Playa Del Carmen. He is a former Starwood man with substantial Mexico experience.

Simon Pettigrew has been promoted to General Manager at the Four Seasons Vancouver, taking over for Guy Rigby. He was most recently the Resort Manager at the Four Seasons Maui. He previously served as Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons Aviara and the Four Seasons New York.

Bruce Brainerd has been named General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel, taking over for the newly retired John Dravinski who had served as General Manager since 1993. Brainerd previously served as General Manager of the Hyatt Regency La Jolla. Like the Hyatt Regency La Jolla, the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel is owned by Laurence Geller’s Strategic Hotels.

Timur Senturk has transferred to the Ritz-Carlton South Beach as General Manager, from the same position at the Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City. He had previously served as Hotel Manager for the Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas and Director of Food and Beverage at the (former) Ritz-Carlton Huntington in Pasadena.

Scott Brooks has joined the W Fort Lauderdale as General Manager. He was most recently in the same position at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay in Hawaii. He previously served as General Manager for Westin in Santa Clara and Portland, Oregon.

Jacqueline Volkart has been promoted to General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove. She was most recently the Hotel Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Puerto Rico. She had previously served in the role of General Manager for the Ritz-Carlton New York Battery Park and the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne.

Jim Olsovsky has been named General Manager of the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center. He has been with Marriott for 27 years in the role of General Manager for the Oklahoma City Marriott, the Doubletree Hotel and Executive Meeting Center in Omaha and Marriott's Hunt Valley Inn in suburban Baltimore.

Gerald Morris has been appointed General Manager at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel & Convention Center. He was most recently the Assistant General Manager at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey.

Jonathan Heath will be the opening General Manager of the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, a transformation of the former Howard Johnson’s motel on Canyon Drive. For the past two years, he had been the General Manager of the Viceroy Palm Springs. Heath previously held executive level positions with Soho House London and GHM Hotels in Mexico.

José Gonzalez Espinosa has been named General Manager of the Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort on St. Thomas. He previously served as General Manager at Marriott and Renaissance properties in Brazil, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic including many international InterContinental posts.

Bob Kramm has joined the Abaco Beach Resort in the Bahamas as Chief Operating Officer and General Manager. He was previously the General Manager for the Old Bahama Bay. On Abaco, he takes over from Cornellian Warren Francis, who has left the company.

Brett Schoenfield has been appointed General Manager of the Riviera Resort & Spa in Palm Springs, slated for re-opening this fall. He spent the past twelve years at the Homestead where he had been the President since 2004, after joining as a Rooms Division Manager. He also spent ten years with Hyatt.

Sunriver Resort in Oregon has named Thomas O’Shea Managing Director, replacing the recently promoted Tom Luersen. After 22 years, O’Shea is leaving Benchmark where he was most recently a Senior Vice President. Sunriver is operated by Destination Resorts.

Diane Mombourquette has been appointed General Manager of the soon-to-open Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet, British Columbia. She was most recently with Tourism Whistler in various capacities, most recently as Vice President of Finance and Operations.

Mark Elawadi has been appointed Managing Director at Turks & Caicos' Third Turtle Club & Spa, expected to open in 2011. Elawadi was most recently the President of the Jefferson Hotel Group. He previously served as Group Director of Development for Kuwait-based Safir Hotels and Resorts, and as Area Vice President and General Manager for Conrad International in Egypt.

Ken Shore has been named General Manager of the Snake River Lodge & Spa in Jackson Hole. He previously served as General Manager at the Doubletree Guest Suites in Tucson, the Hilton Salt Lake City and the Yarrow Resort Hotel & Conference Center.

Crestline Hotels & Resorts has appointed Richard Gaines General Manager for the Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens (formerly the New Otani) in Los Angeles. Gaines joins Crestline from Sunstone Hotels where he was the General Manager of the Sheraton Cerritos.

Hani El-Sharkawi has been named Hotel Manager for the Shangri-La Vancouver, slated to open January 2009. He was most recently in Vienna, Austria, where he was the Operations Manager for the Radisson SAS Palais Hotel and has previously worked at the Hotel Sacher Wien and the Four Seasons George V.

Jean-Louis Magron has joined the Villa del Arco in Cabo San Lucas as Hotel Manager. He was most recently the Resident Manager at Dreams and Food and Beverage Director at Villa La Estancia, both in Los Cabos.

Monica Smiley has been named Director of Operations at the Costa d'Este Beach Resort in Florida. She was previously the Front Office Manager at the Woodlands Resort and Conference Center.

Matt Maddox has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Wynn Resorts. He was most recently the Senior Vice President of Development and Treasurer for the company. He also served as Chief Financial Officer for Wynn Macau and as Vice President of Finance at Caesars Las Vegas.

Esteban Orosco has rejoined the Four Seasons Punta Mita as Director of Finance. He has been with the company since 1999, starting out at the Four Seasons Carmelo. He served as Assistant Director of Finance for the Punta Mita resort before transferring to the Four Seasons Costa Rica as Director of Finance.

Juan Fernandez has been promoted to Director of Finance at the Four Seasons Costa Rica, replacing Esteban Orosco. Fernandez joined the resort in 2006 as Assistant Director of Finance. He was previously at the Four Seasons Berlin, and sister properties in London and New York.

Thomas DeLouise has left the Four Seasons Nevis to join Rock Resorts and Vail Resorts Hospitality as Corporate Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage in Nevis. He had previously served as Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Philadelphia and the Four Seasons Seattle. In addition, he served in food and beverage roles for Sunstone Hotels, Doubletree and Marriott.

Thomas Hoffmann has transferred from the Four Seasons Manele Bay, to the Four Seasons Westlake Village as Director of Food and Beverage. He joined the company in 2001 at the Four Seasons Atlanta and was previously at the Four Seasons Hualalai and the Four Seasons Lanai. In Westlake Village, he takes over for Brooke Gardner, who is now in charge of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons New York.

Alexander Schnoeller has been promoted to Director of Food and Beverage at the Mandarin Oriental Washington, D.C. after joining the hotel in 2005 as Assistant Food and Beverage Manager. He previously held various restaurant management positions for the Mandarin Oriental Manila, the Kahala Mandarin Oriental and the Mandarin Oriental London.

Las Ventanas al Paraíso has appointed Johan Isberg Food and Beverage Director. He was most recently the Executive Assistant Manager in charge of Food and Beverage at the Hyatt Regency Sharm El Sheikh. Isberg also served as Director of Operations at the Faena in Buenos Aires and as Executive Assistant Manager at the InterContinental Buenos Aires.

Sebastian Stutz has transferred to the Ritz-Carlton South Beach as Director of Food and Beverage. For the past two years, he was in a similar position at the Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall. Stutz previously served in various food and beverage management positions at the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans, the Ritz-Carlton Wolfsburg and the Ritz-Carlton Dubai.

Thomas Beaty has moved to Austin as Director of Food and Beverage at the Driskill. He was most recently the Executive Assistant Manager Food and Beverage for the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans. Beaty previously served as Director of Food and Beverage at Earl Holding’s Grand America in Salt Lake City, the Ritz-Carlton St. Louis, the Loews Ventana Canyon and the Windsor Court.

The Shangri-La Vancouver has appointed Frank Schuetzendorf Director of Food and Beverage. He joins from the Hotel Plaza-Athénée, in Paris, where he was the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage. Previously, he served in various food and beverage management positions with Four Seasons in Paris, Santa Barbara and New York.

Ken Taylor has been promoted to Director of Operations Food and Beverage for Royal Caribbean International. He was previously the Manager of Restaurant Operations for the company and also spent fifteen years with Four Seasons in various food and beverage positions.

Dyal Sandhu has been named Director of Food and Beverage for the Bedford Springs Resort in Pennsylvania. He previously served in senior level food and beverage positions with HEI Hotels and Resorts, Hilton, Ritz-Carlton and Starwood.

Perry Wiley has joined the Homestead as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage at the Vail Cascade Resort and Spa.

Frank Kawecki has been promoted with Kimpton Restaurants to Director of Restaurant Operations for New York and the Boston Region. For the past three years, he had been at the Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge, overseeing their restaurants Bambara, Ruby Room and KO Prime. He previously worked for Kimpton in Washington, D.C. Kawecki also worked for Starr Restaurants and China Grill Management.

Michael Billiel has returned to Los Angeles as Vice President of Human Resources for Lucky Strike Entertainment. He was previously with Four Seasons for sixteen years, ten of which were spent at the Four Seasons Los Angeles as Director of Housekeeping, then Assistant Director of Human Resources before his promotion to Director of Human Resources. Then for six years he took on the role of Corporate Director of Human Resources for Four Seasons Vacation Ownership, based in the San Diego area.

Michael Hirschler has transferred as Director of Human Resources to the soon-to-open Four Seasons Seattle. A Cornell graduate, he was most recently the Assistant Director of Human Resources at the Four Seasons Chicago. He has held similar positions at the Four Seasons Boston and the Fairmont Copley Plaza.

The Shangri-La Vancouver has named Kimberlee LoCicero Director of Human Resources. For the past seventeen years, she has been at Vancouver's Pan Pacific Hotel, serving in management roles in both operations and human resources, most recently as Director, People Innovation and Education.

Jeff Froehlich has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Shangri-La Vancouver, scheduled to open January 2009. He was most recently a Sales Manager at the Westin Grand Vancouver.

The West Paces Hotel Group in Atlanta has appointed Roy Grimsland Corporate Director of Sales. For the past ten years, Grimsland has served as Vice President of Sales for Regent Seven Seas Cruises. He previously held various sales positions with Royal Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Line and the Doral Country Club.

The Copley Square Hotel has appointed Kimberly Altschuler Director of Sales and Marketing. She was most recently the Director of Revenue Management and Transient Sales at the Charles Hotel and previously served as Senior Sales Manager at the Bryant Park Hotel in New York City.

The Waterford Hotel Group has promoted Brien Fox to Vice President, Sales and Marketing. Previously, Fox served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Waterford-managed Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa and later as Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing for Waterford.

Richard Keurajian has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Wyndham Princeton Forrestal Hotel & Conference Center. Previously, he served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hyatt Regency Princeton.
Luis Perillo has been appointed Regional Director of Sales and Marketing, Caribbean and Central America, for Hilton. He was most recently the General Manager of the Hilton Barquisimeto in Venezuela.

Ann Walker has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing of Tucker’s Point Hotel & Spa in Bermuda, slated to open April 2009. For the past twenty years, she had been with the Greenbrier, most recently as Senior Director of National Sales.

Ed Polistico has been named Director of National Accounts for the JW Marriott at LA Live. He was most recently the Director of National Accounts for the JW Marriott Orlando and Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes.

Larisa Faust has been named Director of National Accounts for the JW Marriott at LA Live. She was most recently at the Desert Springs JW Marriott Resort & Spa as a Senior Account Executive.

Ani Zerounian has been named to the newly created positions of Director, Public Relations, for The Leading Hotels of the World based in New York. Zerounian was most recently with the Robb Report as Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications.

Jill Killeen has been appointed Director of Communications for the Shangri-La Vancouver. She was most recently a Regional Director of Public Relations with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.

Eric Chopin, previously with Ritz-Carlton for fourteen years, has left to join Rosewood at the Mansion on Peachtree in Atlanta as Executive Chef. For the past seven years, he had been the Executive Chef at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead. He previously held the title of Executive Chef at the Ritz-Carlton Tyson’s Corner and Executive Sous Chef at the (former) Ritz-Carlton Huntington in Pasadena.

Didier Virot has joined the recently re-opened Plaza Hotel in New York as Executive Chef. He was most recently serving as Executive Chef/Owner at FR.OG in Soho. A former Executive Chef with Jean-Georges Vongerichten at JoJo then at Jean Georges, Virot also had his own restaurant on the Upper West Side, dubbed Aix.

Also at the Plaza, Joel Antunes is Chef in charge of the Oak Room. For the past seven years, he has been running his own restaurant, Joel’s, in Atlanta. Previously, he served as Chef de Cuisine for the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead after serving in various highly visible culinary roles in London, France and Bangkok.

Brian Flagg has been appointed Executive Chef for the Millennium Bostonian Hotel. He was most recently the Executive Chef of Summer Shack, the restaurant of his former colleague, Jasper White, whom he worked with in Boston at his flagship restaurant, Jasper’s.

Luc Dimnet has rejoined Brasserie in New York as Executive Chef, taking over from his previous successor, Franklin Becker, who has left to open a restaurant. After previously spending six years as Executive Chef for the restaurant, Dimnet was most recently the Chef/Partner of Buffet de la Gare in Hastings on Hudson.

Willis Loughhead has returned to New York to head up the kitchen for Geoffrey Zhakarian at his Michelin-starred Country. Loughhead had briefly left the city to oversee Sunset Beach on Shelter Island as Executive Chef. He previously served as Chef de Cuisine at the Modern in MOMA and the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove.

David Serus has transferred as Executive Chef to the Ritz-Carlton Washington D.C. replacing Richard Arnoldi who has moved to Europe. He was most recently the Executive Sous Chef at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay.

Troy Guard is joining Roppongi in La Jolla as Chef de Cuisine. He was most recently in Denver with the Sullivan Restaurant Group as Corporate Chef/Partner. Prior to that, he managed the kitchen at Zengo and Tamayo, both in Denver. In addition, he has served as Executive Chef for Roy's in New York, Tokyo, Hawaii and Hong Kong.

Bruno Brazier has been appointed Executive Chef of the Radisson St. Martin Resort, Marina and Spa, due to open in the Summer of 2008. Born in Paris in a well-known Chef family, he worked under Maurice Brazier at the Two-Michelin-starred Clos Longchamp at the Méridien Paris, prior to following the company to Syria, Guadeloupe and California.

David Rodriguez has been appointed Executive Chef for Costa d'Este Beach Resort in Florida. He was most recently the Executive Chef for the Doubletree Hotel & Executive Meeting Center in Somerset and previously served as the Executive Sous Chef for the Palace at Somerset Park, both in New Jersey.

Charles Dale has joined Encantado in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as Executive Chef. He had previously overseen various restaurants including Aspen's Renaissance and Rustique Bistro. The soon-to-open Encantado is the newest resort launched by Auberge Resorts.

The Whitetail Club & Resort in Idaho has named Ian Fulton Executive Chef. He has previously served as Executive Chef for Del Friscos in Las Vegas and owned his own restaurant in Bend, Oregon.

Olivier Kozel has joined the Bern Hotel and Resort in Panama as Executive Chef /Head Chef Instructor for the new Panama International Hotel School opening in April. He previously served as Executive Sous Chef at Cap Juluca in Anguilla and the InterContinental Houston.

Mario Nocifera is now at Joey & Eddie’s in San Francisco, as Restaurant Manager. He previously worked at the Dining Room at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, Michael Mina, Pescheria and the recently closed Scott Howard.

Marius Blin has moved over to the Beverly Wilshire as Executive Sous Chef. He was in the same position at the Sofitel Los Angeles.

John Signorelli has been appointed Executive Sous Chef at the St. Regis Houston. For the past three years, he had held the Executive Sous Chef title at the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota. He had previously held various culinary positions at Ritz-Carlton for the past decade in Half Moon Bay, Osaka, New Orleans and Marina del Rey.

Patrick Bryant has joined Roppongi in La Jolla as General Manager. For the past six years, he had overseen the restaurants of BR Guest Restaurant Inc. including the Blue Water Grill Chicago, the Ocean Grill New York, Dos Caminos Soho and the Atlantic Grill Restaurant. Bryant also served as Hospitality Manager at New York’s Marriott Marquis, and as Restaurant Manager at the Westin Maui and Westin Cincinnati.

The Whitetail Club & Resort in Idaho has named Stephen Tuten Manager of Narrows. Tuten was previously Director of Food and Beverage at the Greer Lodge Resort and Director of Fine Dining, Wine and Banquets at the Schweitzer Mountain Resort.

The Ritz-Carlton Chicago has appointed Michael Nenner Director of Rooms. He was most recently the Director of Rooms at the Cloister Hotel at Sea Island. He previously served in rooms positions for the Phoenician in Scottsdale and San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara. In Chicago, he takes over for Laura Csoka-Symons who, after eleven years at the Ritz-Carlton, moves across the street to the Four Seasons Chicago.

Gigi Wiegman has been appointed Executive Spa Director for the Spa Oceana at the Loews Don Cesar Beach Resort in Florida. She was most recently the Assistant General Manager for the Corazon Club And Spa.

EUROPE

Macdonald Hotels has appointed David Guile Chief Executive. Since 2006, he had served as Deputy Chief Executive for the company. Gordon Fraser has been promoted from his position as the Group Finance Director to take over for Guile.

Luc Delafosse is moving back to London to oversee the development of a 180-room, Five-Star hotel due to open in two years in the “City”. This is a return to London after serving for seven years as Managing Director of the Ritz London, before heading to Dubai in his most recent position as General Manager of the Burj al Arab. Delafosse also previously served as General Manager of the Hotel Mirabeau in Monaco, Le Grand Hotel in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage and the Vista Palace.

Carlos Mirza has been appointed General Manager for L'Etoile du Mont-Blanc Hotel & Spa in Switzerland, slated for opening December 2008. He was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Lausanne Palace & Spa and previously served as Sales Manager, Middle East & Africa, at Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts.

Morten Ebbesen has been appointed General Manager of the Corinthia Beach Resort in Malta. Ebbesen joins from his most recent position of regional director for Hotel Dynamics based in Dubai. He previously served as General Manager of the Pestana Grand Hotel Madeira, and the Millennium Mayfair and Sheraton Park Tower hotels in London.

Stefan Buchs has returned to Prague as General Manager of the Corinthia Hotel Prague and Vice President of Western and Central Europe for Corinthia Hotels. He was previously the General Manager of the Radisson SAS Prague before moving to London to serve as General Manager of the Portman Hotel and, most recently, the Millennium Hotel London Mayfair.

Joseph Zaiden has been appointed General Manager of the Sungate Port Royal Hotel in Antalya. He is a former Regional Director for Driftwood, where he was responsible for their properties in the Bahamas. Zaiden is also a former General Manager of the Conrad Red Sea Resort and the Hilton Los Cabos Beach and Golf Resort.

The new General Manager at the Swissôtel Grand Efes in Izmir is Stuart Chase. Prior to this appointment, he was based in Bahrain as General Manager of the Gulf Hotel & Gulf International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

French Michelin-starred Chef Hélène Darroze will be in charge of the restaurants at London’s Connaught, taking over from Gordon Ramsay protégée Angela Hartnett (who has her hands full with her restaurant Cielo at Blackstone’s Boca Raton Resort and Club). Hélène Darroze at the Connaught is due to launch in June 2008. Her namesake Parisian restaurant is rated Two-Michelin stars.

ASIA AND THE PACIFIC

Six Senses Resorts & Spas has promoted Jamie Waring to Chief Operating Officer. He was most recently the Managing Director of the Six Senses Spas group after joining the group as Deputy Managing Director of Six Senses Spas in 2005.

At Taj International, Yannick Poupon has been promoted from General Manager of the Taj Mahal New Delhi, to Chief Operating Officer of Taj Luxury India. Poupon had originally joined Taj in Dubai.

Charlie Dang has been appointed to the newly created position of Area Managing Director, Northern China, for Starwood Hotels & Resorts. He will continue to retain his current role of General Manager at the Westin Beijing Financial Street. Before opening the hotel, he served as opening General Manager of the Sheraton Dongguan and the Sheraton Xian.

Michael French is opening yet one more giant casino hotel, with the launch of the 2,200-room City of Dreams in Macau. He is a former Senior Vice President Operations for Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and also launched in the same capacity, the Venetian. French then moved on to be the Chief Operating Officer of the Inn of the Mountain Gods in New Mexico.

Bill Anderson has joined the Hualalai Company as Chief Operating Officer. For the past three months, he had been the Vice President of Operations and Concepts for Miraval and was briefly the Managing Director for the Mayacama Golf Club in Santa Rosa. Anderson previously served as Vice President for Yacht Haven and Managing Director for the Palms and the Sands in Turks and Caicos. He is also a former Managing Director of Jumby Bay.

Jean-Charles Le Coz has been appointed General Manager of the Nikko Bali Resort & Spa. For the past six years, he has been based in Bali, serving in various positions for the Harris Resort Kuta, the Hotel Sahid Raya Bali and the Begawan Giri Estate. He was most recently with the Balihai Resort & Spa as its General Manager.

Akira Moreno has transferred with GHM Hotels as General Manager for the Andaman in Malaysia. For the past two years, he had been at the Leela in Goa as Resident Manager. A Lausanne graduate, he previously served as Hotel Manager at the Raleigh in Miami and Executive Assistant Manager Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton Washington D.C.

Laurent Voivenel is Area Manager Pakistan and General Manager of the Sheraton Karachi Hotel and Towers. He was most recently the General Manager of the Sheraton Ryiadh. Voivenel previously served as Area Vice President and Director of Operations for Starwood Hotels and Resorts French Polynesia.

David Lewin has joined the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort and Spa as General Manager. He has worked for Hyatt..
