One of New Zealand’s most exclusive properties, Moose Lodge, is being offered for sale by private treaty. Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels’ National Director of New Zealand, Mr Dean Humphries, will coordinate the marketing of the luxury lodge and golf course property on behalf of its long term owners.
Spectacularly positioned on a stunning lakeside estate in New Zealand’s thermal and fly fishing capital, Rotorua, the grand Lodge boasts an enviable track record. “Frequented by some of the world’s most treasured guests, Moose Lodge is a unique and elegant property,” said Mr Humphries.
The visitor book reveals past guests who have included members of the British Monarchy such as the Queen and Prince Charles, Prime Minister’s including Singapore’s Lee Kuan Yew, fashion legend Pierre Cardin and other well-known celebrities from all corners of the world.
The luxurious Lodge is like no other in the region. It features a 38.3ha freehold site fronting Lake Rotoiti, 21 luxury guestrooms, restaurant, library / billiards room, conference area, thermal baths and recreational facilities including a private championship rated double nine-hole golf course. “Moose Lodge offers investors a rare opportunity to purchase a lake-front asset which would be ideal as a luxury lodge, private retreat or residence,” said Mr Humphries.
Demand for quality tourism assets in New Zealand continues, despite the global events occurring in the finance sector. Key provincial locations such as Rotorua, Hawkes Bay and parts of the South Island are also becoming increasingly popular. “The rare opportunity for a new owner to reposition the lodge back into the luxury five-star market is ideal. There remains a critical shortage of world class accommodation in New Zealand to cater for the lucrative and discerning independent international traveller market,” said Mr Humphries. He added, “International tourism arrivals are forecast to jump from the current level of 2.5 million visitors to 3.2 million visitors by 2013.”
The rarity of quality lodges over 20 rooms being offered for sale in New Zealand at present is rare. “The vendor is prepared to look at all genuine offers,” said Mr Humphries.
