Ola Ivarsson Appointed Senior Vice President Europe

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts announces the appointment of Ola Ivarsson as Senior Vice President Europe with effect from 17 March 2008. Ivarsson will become a member of the international hotel group’s Executive Committee.

“In Ola Ivarsson we have identified the ideal candidate to lead and further strengthen our brand, its competitiveness and financial returns,” says Jean Gabriel Pérès, President & CEO Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. “With his wealth of experience he will continue along the successful course we have already charted in Europe, where we manage 29 hotels today.”

Ola Ivarsson, who is a Swedish national, previously held the position of Vice President Germany, Austria and Switzerland for Hilton Hotels for five years. Before that, he was in charge of Hilton Hotels’ eastern European operations as Vice President Eastern Europe, including Russia and the Baltic states. Previously, he held a number of Executive Management roles with Scandic Hotels for a period of eleven years. Following his Bachelor’s Degree from the Gothenburg School of Economics, he gained experience of operational senior leadership roles with SAS Service Partner in Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Ivarsson succeeds Stefan Flury, who has been in charge as Director of Operations of the company’s hotel portfolio in Switzerland since December 2007.
